Unfortunately, this hotel didn't convince us. Unfriendly gentleman at reception, rooms not clean. Kind of strange smell in the building. The towels also smell strange. For the price asked, you could definitely expect better. I can't recommend it any further.

It's surprising that this hotel is still holding up! The previous negative recessions can be fully confirmed. You don't feel comfortable here at all. Very bad air, strange smell of smoke, poor condition of the rooms and remote beds are just some of the negative aspects. The breakfast is outrageous what you get here for €13. Please don't do this to yourself!!!

Unprofessional handling and incorrect billingWhen my colleague and I arrived, our rooms were occupied elsewhere. We were offered replacement rooms in the attic that did not correspond to what we had booked. Instead of the private bathroom in the room specified when booking, we would have had to use a shared bathroom in the hallway. The interior was run down and the rooms were dirty.We discussed with the employee that we did not want to take the rooms under these circumstances and she assured us that in this case we would not have to pay anything for the cancellation. A few days later, Booking debited the money for the rooms because the hotel had marked us as "not arrived". The hotel didn't respond to inquiries from Booking or us, so we still had to pay for the rooms.

Very basic hotel, no restaurant no bar, even though it says there is, but rooms clean.
No restaurants locally, except for local pub which does food 5 evening a week, and a pizza place / kebab not far from hotel.

I had an overnight stay in the hotel on January 27th to 7th. The service when handing over the keys was unfriendly, and there was no hot water for showering for a long time. Breakfast is also offered on the website, but in reality there was no breakfast and the reception was not as staffed as stated. Anything else, this hotel is not recommended. I have also read the reviews on many sites and I see the same thing as what is written.

Very friendly young man at reception.I booked and paid for breakfast, but there was none.Room 1 The mattress is a disaster, the TV doesn't work and the WiFi breaks down every 15 minutes.I'm really angry, especially because of the breakfast and the mattress.

It's outrageous how this hotel gets a good rating! Instead of providing a clean service, the focus here is on review deletion. Now only 96 reviews.Addendum:Yesterday, on December 14th, 2023, I was contacted by Google telling me that the hotel could initiate investigations against me because there was never a business relationship. It is claimed that I was never a guest and that my review is untrue. Of course, I forwarded my invoice to Google and will now consider further steps regarding this defamation. Since yesterday evening there have been two fewer reviews and the overall score has increased from 2.4 to 2.5.Unfortunately, the hotel has no advantages, or my stay was chosen at an unfortunate time!The furnishings in the rooms are very limited, apart from the floor covering (laminate). From a lack of sockets, to worn out shower head brackets, a sink connection disaster, a tiny sink and a missing bathroom mirror. The toilet seat that was selected too small for the toilet size. A television that doesn't show any programs. A hallway light that rarely lights up, door handles that don't stay on the doors. A breakfast that is still too expensive even for 5 euros (we bought rolls ourselves because the egg tastes better without the cardboard underneath!)So, bottom line - not so good. Unfortunately, the hard-working staff won't help if the owner of the house doesn't open his eyes and take a closer look at this hostel!It's a shame, but not again!

I was here for Christmas a year ago. It was ok then. This time it was a complete disaster. When we arrived there was no registration form, the ID was copied, and there was no invoice apart from the EC receipt.Room 15, tiny bathroom. It feels like 2 square meters all together. Shower on the left (ice cold), toilet straight on (broken) and small sink on the right (hair dryer broken). No heating. Never again !!!

I absolutely cannot understand that in 2023 there will still be a hotel where you can see from the room door how sagging the mattress is. The pillow is huge and when you lie down in the bed you lie on the slatted frame. An absolute no go. And I'm actually someone who can get along with anything, but something like that doesn't work.

Our stay at the Hotel zum Ochsen in Bietigheim from August 17th to August 20th, 2023.Room price €99 per night.Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by a young man.He took us to room 3, which was very modest.In number 3 neither the WiFi nor the TV programs worked.When one of the mattresses had a deep hollow/crack, it was clear that we wouldn't stay in that room.After a phone call and a wait of about 20 minutes, we were taken to room 15 by the friendly young man.This one is nicer, bigger and the mattress is firmer.The bathroom is very small, the shower has a shower curtain, which urgently needs to be replaced.PhotosAfter the first night the beds were neither made nor cleaned.After we asked for towels, towels (broken) were put in our room, but the used ones on the floor were not taken away.The breakfast (€13 per person), which we only booked for one morning, did not consist of a breakfast buffet (as stated on the internet).Rolls were hard,…Photos!We stayed in this hotel for the first and last time.This house doesn't deserve the name hotel!

The price is cheap, but it's not worth it. Torn curtains in the room, curtain rod hanging from the wall. The shower head isn't installed...I don't want to start with the bed. It was definitely an “experience” 😉
