Wonderful leader who still lives out the goal of the youth hostel.You don't need much to be happy! Less is often more! The original youth hostel flair lives on here. The shared sense of humor was also on the same level. I'm looking forward to seeing you again.

A great, freshly & modernly renovated youth hostel in the middle of Teuto 🌲🌳🏡Super competent, tough hostel manager & very courteous staff!All in all we are very satisfied 🥰

Actually great, very nice staff. Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired, hence the point deduction. They are also only partially equipped for people with special needs, in which case (e.g. severe disabilities) be sure to ask beforehand.

Slightly older JHB, rooms but newly renovated and nice, cozy new entrance area with seating areas. I had a single room, but not a comfort room, so the toilet and shower were outside the room and shared by several people (typical for a youth hostel). Toilet a bit older but clean, showers newly renovated.Rooms with sinks, new furniture and comfortable mattresses. Was clean and well maintained.Nice seating outside, games to borrow and water to drink at any time. Very nice, friendly Herbert's mother, always in a good mood despite the full hut! Not a given! Got lots of tips and material for excursions. The food was delicious and the service was always friendly. I'd love to come back 😊Many excursion options nearby. By the way, it's also easy to explore using public transport.

Was there with my class about a year ago.... The beds were partly dirty and the mattresses were rock hard and it smelled sometimes... The only good thing was the food and the environment

Cozy small but very, very nice youth hostel. I stayed here for three nights in April as part of a hike on the Hermannsweg. My room wasn't huge, but it was definitely big enough. Everything was very clean, modern and brightly decorated. My room had its own bathroom. Here too, everything was great and very clean. There was enough space in the hallway in front of the room to hang up the wet hiking gear to dry. That would have been a bit tight in the room itself.The mattress was just right for me, so I had a great night's sleep.Breakfast and dinner were great: large selection, everything was delicious -- even for me as a vegetarian. This is not a given. It was also great that I was allowed to sit down and drink coffee before the “official” breakfast time. The reception and dining room are equipped with super chic rustic furniture. I really liked that.The employees I got to know were all really nice, caring and committed. The house was relatively empty, so there was often an opportunity to chat for a moment.The location of the youth hostel is ideal for exploring the many sights in the surrounding area: Hermannsdenkmal, open-air museum, bird park, Externsteine, Lippischer and Prussian Velmerstot and the cities of Bielefeld and Paderborn are not far.Long story short: it was really nice here and I would love to come back!

The beds were relatively dirty and our room was still full of pretzel sticks and other food. There were flies crawling out of the ceiling and the room was very small for four people. The food wasn't the best either, but afterwards you had a stomach ache and/or bloating

So everything was perfect but the employees were rude except for one he was a man where we asked if they could refill multi juice they rudely said drink orange juice when orange juice is empty drink water.

Rooms were good, but a bit small.Service was great. Employees baked me a roll especially in the evening when I was puking. The beds are comfortable. The beds have small places where you can easily store everything that fits on them. There are also sockets and lights. After 10 p.m. it was almost always quiet and I was able to fall asleep quickly. The location is a bit bad, you could say next to the forest. But the Externsteine, Adlerwarte and the Hermann Monument are nearby. We also visited an open-air museum and a castle. The lobby was also good with a water dispenser and tables. There were many things at the reception. Toys, games and a lot of other things too. In total my parents paid around €200-300. Great experience for something like that. Only 1/3-1/2 the price of my PC! The toilets were good and comfortable. The rooms are warm and the showers offer many temperatures. The shower rooms also have a lot of storage space. The faucet pumped out water so quickly that you could wash clothes with it. I can't say how good this hostel was. There was no dirt or trash anywhere. There were good, unfilled trash cans everywhere. I'm really excited. The staff was really nice and answered questions well.

When I was there I felt as free as I was in the forest. The food was delicious and the staff was very nice, even when I hurt myself I was asked for plasters or cold packs.

The staff are rude, the beds are uncomfortable and the place is in the middle of the forest. Not a suitable place for a school trip. Therefore 1 star.

I was in the youth hostel with the class in 2016 and it was ok. The food wasn't anything special at the moment, but we were full and I got a bottle to drink in the kitchen at night (7 p.m.) for a reasonable price of 2 euros.

Nice youth hostel with a very nice manager. Great location close to the Externsteine, about 15-20 minutes walk. It's about 20 minutes by car to the Hermannsdenkmal. Rooms are very nicely and modernly furnished.

We stayed as a family with 2 adults, 2 children and a dog in a 6 bed room. As a convenience, we had booked our own bathroom (toilet, sink and shower) for individual use. Uncomplicated and very nice check-in. The youth hostel is friendly and very clean. The food (warm breakfast and dinner) was very sufficient and very tasty. We were able to sleep well and peacefully. The staff was very friendly, helpful and you felt like you were in good hands. We had a separate room at mealtimes so the dog could stay with us. Thanks for that.The location of the youth hostel is ideal for exploring the area. Free parking spaces at the house.Definitely a recommendation from us and an extra point for the friendliness. We'd love to come back
