Cozy hotel with a feel-good character,We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. We were given a glass of champagne and our car was driven into the garage. This friendliness ran like a common thread throughout the two days among all the staff and especially the junior manager. In other words, we came as strangers and left as friends. In the evening we enjoyed the 6-course menu with wine accompaniment, short description: a pleasure for all the senses. The rooms are clean and lovingly furnished. The breakfast buffet is very rich and leaves nothing to be desired.A visit to the associated restaurant Cocotte at the end of the street is recommended. Here too, super friendly staff, very good cuisine and a cozy interior so that you feel completely at home.

Service absolutely great.Unfortunately, the exhaust in the house doesn't work, so it smells extremely like food.Rooms lovingly designed. Unfortunately the shower had mold and the shower door was broken so water was running out.A nightstand with drawers broken. The evening menu was special but well prepared. Some of it was too cold and unfortunately the salad was already very wiltedThe small town and its people are very nice. Parking a disaster.

This fantastic, family-run hotel is hidden in Gengenbach's old town. Beautiful rooms, outdoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath, a restaurant with an exquisite menu (two in the immediate vicinity to be precise), a Mediterranean garden area, a friendly, warm team... we have repeatedly spent very relaxing days here thanks to the Hummel family and the very around Your guests worried employees. Always wonderful. A special thank you to Mr. Bleyer for the entertaining interaction, the culinary insights and the extra hospitality.

Nice hotel in the middle of pretty Gengenbach. We had the apartment, which was very nicely furnished, with a bed in a bunk, very nice for children, but a bit unsuitable for an older adult, as you had to climb stairs and make sure you didn't hit your head. The morning meal was very rich and had a large selection, including freshly squeezed orange juice and very good coffee. There are extractors for the pool, which was cold and very dirty. It's not enough that the pool was checked two weeks ago because it was 21.6°C and the water quality was good. It's supposed to be a natural pool but you also have to clean the bottom, it's not a natural pond. Nobody went swimming in this pool on these two days! The whirlpool was ok, was also slightly cloudy on the second day but ok. If you don't value a pool that you can use, the hotel is otherwise recommended.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The breakfast is really good and the staff are very nice and accommodating. All in all a really great experience and a hotel that we would love to come back to.However, there is one small point of criticism. We traveled with a dog, which was possible without any problems. The dog cost a flat rate of 30 euros per night. That's okay in principle, but for the price I would have liked some attention for the dog. A place to lie down in the room, a bowl, maybe a few treats or even the question of whether the dog would like something to drink when you sit in the bar in the evening. However, I would like to emphasize again that this point is not a reason for us not to come back and for people without dogs, the hotel is worth 5 stars anyway.Edith: Because of the nice answer, up to 5 stars.

We came to the Reichsstadt restaurant on a recommendation and decided on a 4-course menu. The courses were a real highlight both visually and in terms of taste. Various components were combined very harmoniously. The service was very attentive and friendly. The ambience invites you to linger. We give full 5 stars and would be happy to come back.

This place is a ripoff. The room was so hot and cramped. It was dirty. The sheets were polyester. The place does not look like its online photos. Extremely pretentious and overpriced. Pool is tiny.

**Hotel review: The Imperial City in Gengenbach**The Hotel Die Reichsstadt in Gengenbach is a true pearl in the heart of the Black Forest. As soon as you enter the hotel you can feel the loving atmosphere that runs through the entire facility. The rooms are extremely tastefully furnished with great attention to detail, which ensures an immediate feel-good factor.I was particularly impressed by the fantastic spa area. Here you can relax wonderfully in the small but beautiful sauna area or in the wonderful swimming pool and escape from everyday life. The spa area is modern and luxurious without losing its cosiness. The breakfast in the hotel is outstanding. A large selection of fresh and high-quality dishes is offered that leaves nothing to be desired. The day starts simply perfectly here.Another plus point is the extremely friendly and attentive employees. They make a significant contribution to ensuring that you as a guest feel completely comfortable and can enjoy your stay to the fullest. All in all, I can only warmly recommend the Hotel Die Reichsstadt. It offers the perfect combination of comfort, style and warm hospitality. A stay here is a real experience!
