Super located youth hostel. The sea, the beach is attached. The rooms have been renovated, the food is good and plentiful. The staff very friendly.

The rooms are furnished like a youth hostel. Showers and toilets were clean and there were enough of them. The food is great. The location is somewhat remote but easily accessible by island train or bus. I think the prices at the kiosk or the vending machines are too high. The prices in the Piente are also amazing. 4.50 euros for a non-alcoholic beer is quite nice.

We are an 8th grader from Berlin and spent a week here in the huge area. The majority of young people also found the food delicious. Rooms are clean with our own housekeeping staff, bike rental is great and really cool "inclusion" electric bikes for teachers, self-made (you can take young people with walking disabilities comfortably on the built-in saddle). And the locals very pleasant.

We were there for a school trip and it was bad. We had booked a 4-person room and by a 4-person room I mean a room with 4 normal beds! Instead we had a triple room with a fold-out bed, and the fold-out bed was dirty and there were crumbs everywhere. Our room was just as big as a storage room. There's nothing more to say about the cafeteria, the food wasn't that tasty, the tables were dirty and the behavior was unhygienic! In the evening and throughout the day it smelled like piss in the entire hallway. I wouldn't recommend going there.

It wasn't very good! The rooms were dirty THE BICYCLES ARE NOT GOOD THEY ARE ALMOST FALLING OUT! My colleague's bike broke twice and it's like it's hacking

I found the rooms to be the worst. A lamp was simply broken and we had to cover the costs even though it wasn't us.

Given that this is a youth hostel, my expectations were completely exceeded. We're staying in house 3 and I just think it's great. Great room and our breakfast was also very good. I'm thrilled.

After reading the positive reviews about the DJH youth hostel Borkum "Am Wattenmeer", I booked accommodation for my group Ukraine Community NRW. The booking service, the rooms, the convenient location and the food deserve the highest praise and exceeded my expectations.I would particularly like to highlight the extremely friendly staff, especially the helpful and courteous employees at the reception. A big thank you to her personally and on behalf of all 34 participants on the trip.I can only warmly recommend the Borkum “Am Wattenmeer” youth hostel. Everything corresponds exactly to the descriptions on the youth hostel website.

We stayed here in the youth hostel on Borkum for one night in July 2024. To stay one more day on this beautiful island. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed. And shown where things are on the premises. There are many free play options for children on the grounds, whether big or small. From mini golf; Basketball; Table tennis and new playgrounds. You could also easily park your car here. We were accommodated in house 7. The room was normally furnished. With beds; a table with chairs; a cupboard to store things. We had a family room with a toilet and shower. But you could also shower in the shower room that was on the floor. All clean! Just youth hostel style! The dinner was super delicious. There was pasta with goulash. A second dish would also be offered. Schupfnudeln with vegetables. Breakfast in the morning was great. There was everything your heart could desire. And you were allowed to put together a lansch package for your departure. The only drawback I found was the location of the youth hostel. It is far away from the center. But buses run from here. Or you can rent a bike directly from the house. We will come back next year!!!🌞

I spent 5 days there with my daughter and was very satisfied.Clean room and bathroom, nice staff, lots of options, great grounds.We were also happy with the food; yesterday we even had a barbecue outside.Thank you for the lovely holiday!

My daughter spent a week in the youth hostel on a school trip (7th grade, 12 years old) in July 2024. As a parent, you sometimes think about it when you read the reviews, so we decided to write one too...She was completely thrilled! The rooms - at least in this building - were all newly renovated, clean and modern with private bathrooms. The food was varied, good and tolerable for everyone (tortellini, croquettes, spaghetti, burgers, etc.). The climbing course was also fun (team building), as were the trips with the rental bikes. It certainly wasn't perfect, but it was enough to have fun for a week!

Large selection of bike rentals, especially the parent-child tandems are cool. We had a bike breakdown, the boss personally came and picked up the bike and within a few minutes exchanged it for another bike and delivered it to us. Super Service!Addendum: in the evening we got a free upgrade to an e-bike for the entire week as compensation for the waiting time. Totally generous and uncomplicated.

At least in the rooms in which our groups stayed over the last 4 years, there was absolutely nothing to complain about - unless you expect air conditioning and/or a minibar in a youth hostel. The (renovated) room quality is close to mid-range hotels, if not above. The service is courteous and generally good; slightly longer reception opening hours would certainly be desirable for individual travelers. The point is deducted if a broken toilet on a group trip was not repaired until the Friday when the toilet was reported on Tuesday (i.e. for the following group). One can argue about the location - certainly ideal for group trips (huge terrain, lots of variety, difficult access to unwanted goods, a lot of "freedom" in a still protected area), for individual travelers certainly "far away from everything". There's hardly any need to say anything about the food - the breakfast (and the option to prepare packed lunches) is very good, fresh and of high quality. If there were eggs/scrambled eggs and/or bacon, I wouldn't notice any noticeable difference compared to a 4+ star hotel in Berlin or Hamburg. The warm dinner (=main meal) is okay/solid, but definitely not bad. The bikes available for rental are certainly (still?) the biggest drawback at the moment - they are often "rudimentary functional", but - pardon the expression - "pretty shabby". And about “Joe”: He is simply “allowed” to do more than (often) accompanying educational staff. But he also has direct responsibility for (completely inexperienced) climbers. His often clear speech/or His direct interaction with them is certainly unusual for many children, but in my opinion it is more than appropriate!

It's unclean. There were ants in the room when we arrived. After eating I was usually sick. The fruit was mostly rotten. There were stains on the mattress and also on the duvets and pillows. I wouldn't recommend it
