I had a single room, a generous estimate of 6 square meters - in it they put a relatively large cupboard and also a chair! It was hardly possible to unpack my travel bag. Chair on the cupboard - then it worked. Breakfast at a nearby hotel - no complaints.

We had a really nice time at the Bergfriede accommodation in Schmilka. Robin in particular made our stay something very special with his humorous and warm manner. The rooms are functional and offer everything you need for a stay.A highlight was breakfast: it was served at a large table together with other guests, which created a very cozy and familiar atmosphere.We felt completely comfortable - both with Robin and in Schmilka.We would definitely like to come back!

We were a group on the Malerweg and slept there for one night.Robin welcomed us very nicely. The houses are ideal hiking hostels with no frills. Sharing the kitchen and bathroom with other people is usually common in hiking accommodations and is not a problem.I also think the price is justified, considering that there are no shopping opportunities in Schmilka and everything has to be climbed up the stairs. I'd love to come back if we hike here again. Thanks Robin

Great accommodation with very friendly people. Was able to book a room on short note, breakfast included the next day. A beautiful and quiet place to stay, with the best location in Saxon Switzerland.

We spent one night in Robin's forest huts and found it really comfortable, relaxing and relaxing. (important after a strenuous hike!) There was also a terrace next to the hut where you can look over the whole of Schilka.The owner (Robin) took great care of us and was happy to chat with us.The breakfast was great! Something for everyone and a large selection (jams, sausage and cheese, vegetables, eggs,…)Conclusion: Top location, top service, great breakfast... Everything great! Very good value for money!We would love to come back and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't visited Robin yet!

I meet owner on road, when I needed ride to another city (ferry was on strike). He offered me ride, when he didn't need to (I was waiting for bus). It takes a special kind of person, to be so nice to others. This give you better guarantee of best hotel stay, that usual opinions from paying guests.

Excellent place to stop for a break after the 5th stage of the Malerweg. Rooms clean and functionally furnished. Big plus point: drying rack in the room for hiking gear. Small downgrade: shared bathroom, but it is very clean and relatively new. Breakfast very tasty and plentiful.

Accommodation in a central location, our room with bathroom was very spacious, clean and cozy. Breakfast takes place at a long, well-laid table for all (permanent) guests in the kitchen. A rather unusual setting for breakfast for us, but it was very entertaining and relaxed. We would be happy to come back if we get the chance.

Very rustic accommodation with a great host. The breakfast in the small “kitchen” had something very special. A large table for all guests. The concept may seem unusual at first, but it encourages exchange among the guests. The room was very nice and large. I slept really well, the location is very central. A good address. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back at any time. My advice.

The host made a big announcement and accommodated four of us in his “beautiful hiking hut” in the Adlerhorst - we were originally happy because it sounded great in advance. In the end, the chemical toilet in the hut was completely full, almost overflowing. So we locked the door to the “toilet”. There was also no water, as previously stated. If you want to go to the toilet/access to water, you have to scramble halfway down the mountain and share the bathroom with 8-10 strangers. Breakfast the following day is in the host's own kitchen. You sit at a table with other (foreign) guests while the host stands in the door the whole time and tells stories about himself. Worst experience of the whole trip - and we paid so much money for it.

The rooms are small, nice and clean. The bathrooms are new. Robin is a wonderful host. He takes care of everything, is good at telling and listening. His breakfast with the guests around a table is a lot of fun, the offering leaves nothing to be desired. And you don't even have to go onto the street to get to the beer garden.

We were on the Malerweg and stayed one night in Haus Bergfriede. We have absolutely nothing to complain about! Robin is very friendly, uncomplicated and tried very hard to make us feel comfortable. The location was really great too! Definitely recommended!

An insider tip. Robin Pietz and his son are nice, flexible and accommodating. Rooms were clean and ready earlier. Robin inspires with his “breakfast table round”. An experience and a nice start to the day.
