A hotel employee called me about 45 minutes before my arrival to tell me that the hotel was overbooked and that I should not come. They couldn't or wouldn't offer me an alternative or help with the solution.I then booked another hotel. The small additional costs claimed have not been reimbursed, at least to date, and there has been no response to my email regarding this. The hotel's cancellation didn't take place until the next day; the employee explained to me that only then could he say that I hadn't shown up, so he could currently only cancel my booking by telephone. By the way, a cancellation on my part would only have been possible at considerable cost at this point. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a hotel that charges high cancellation fees, but reserves the right to cancel guests by telephone and at short notice, does not offer any suggestions for solutions and does not respond to emails afterwards.

We were in Bautzen at Easter 2024 and were thrilled by the location in the middle of the city of Bautzen. The disillusionment came when we moved into our room. Unfortunately not a nice location, at the beginning right after the stairs on the second floor, then three more rooms and everyone who walked past could take a look into the room. Not very advantageous, nothing worked without the curtains drawn. The room was very spartan and tiny; in the bathroom you could only open the window if you climbed onto the toilet. Breakfast was certainly sufficient, but I've had better breakfast for less money, room price €90/day. Parking is free, but so small that it didn't work at all just to drive away. The stay in Bautzen was still very nice because Bautzen is simply a wonderful city.

Arrival and reception were very good. The rooms are tidy. Unfortunately, the noise levels are not insignificant due to the thin walls. The breakfast was borderline. No selection of fruits and vegetables. Yoghurt not available. Overall not really recommended. Too bad :-(.

We stayed in this guesthouse for one night. Sleeping in such an old house is impressive and much of the atmosphere has been retained in the rooms. However, I find the furniture very jumbled together and that ruins it. The break between an old ebony cabinet and a white Kallax shelf is simply not nice and simply has no style. But that's a matter of taste. The room was clean except for the carpet. There was a lot of hair and lint on it, that's better. ;)An improvement would also be real blackout curtains instead of thin curtains. It was just light in the room from 5:45 a.m. in the morning. In addition, the thin, light curtains are not opaque when the light in the room is on in the evening. The breakfast was plentiful, but it would be nice if there was water at breakfast and there was also something for children with the cereal. The rolls included extra milk rolls for children, which was thoughtful. :) The staff is super accommodating, please keep it that way! Thanks for the nice accommodation!

If you don't happen to read that you have to check in by 7 p.m. (there was no notice when you booked by phone), you'll just find yourself standing in front of the locked door at 8 in the evening, as in our case, if you're unlucky, in the cold and rain, and after an inconvenient way It took a long time to get in touch until someone came. Sorry was very manageable, instead you were led into a cold, completely unheated room… in winter temperatures. We chose this guesthouse because it was supposedly dog-friendly... but be careful: there is an extra fee for the dog, but the dog (Chihuahua) was not allowed in the breakfast room, which is a big problem when the dog is in unfamiliar surroundings can't stay alone. Otherwise average circumstances... it's of course inexpensive, but for a few euros more you can definitely get a higher quality accommodation.
