Very comfortable night in this family held pension. The owners are friendly and helpful, the view is gorgeous and the place is very calm. It is up in the village, next to little fields and farm animals.

We booked a room for one night through Booking. When we arrived, they initially didn't know anything about the booking. After some back and forth, we were supposed to get a room with two single beds, even though we had booked a double room. In the end it was made to fit.The location is nice, but unfortunately the whole house is getting old. The room and especially the bathroom need a basic renovation or at least a thorough cleaning. There was also a lot of stuff lying around in the dining room, where breakfast is served, that has no place in the area for guests. A look through the open kitchen door revealed a dingy kitchen. The breakfast was ok, but without any special features. There is a large dog who also stays in the breakfast room. That doesn't work at all. We wouldn't want to spend more than one night here.

There can be no question of a hotel, as others write. Hotel prices for a guesthouse apply. Musty house equipped with hodgepodge is apt. Dog runs around freely in the reception area, sniffing the breakfast buffet (disgusting). The question arises as to what happens when no one is in the guest room. After this first impression, we declined, although they still asked for the full price, plus final cleaning for an unused room. If we don't like it. We then stayed at the Hotel Berghof in Lichtenhain for a lower price and there was a world of difference. Message follows.

A very friendly guest house, the owner also speaks fluent Dutch so it is also worth a Dutch review. If you walk the Malerweg you can easily spend the night here. Everything was very clean the shower worked well. The complaints from others about the beds are a bit on the exaggerated side, there is indeed room for improvement, but they were fine for an undisturbed night's sleep, the environment was also very relaxing, it is not the case that you are disturbed at night or in the morning through all kinds of sounds, it's just quiet. For me it was an emergency solution as I still had no sleep leak at 9:30 PM, so I think it is very nice that the owner was kind enough to provide me with this beautiful place to sleep and to provide service, which is very unusual, but do it. Don't follow me and be sensible and polite and book in advance. The breakfast is extensive and fresh, it was ready and set up in the morning, upon arrival I was asked if I was vegetarian and if I did not eat certain things, so the breakfast can be somewhat adapted to you, definitely worth €10 to spend extra on, especially if you have a long walk ahead of you as the next campsite/guesthouse or hotel is still very far away when you walk the Malerweg. The owner is also happy to have a nice chat, which is nice when you are abroad and you can still speak your own language. Can't complain about the price, great tent and I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area

The TC Wanderlust 1896 Dresden was able to be a guest here for the second time. After Uwe helped us out at (very) short notice last year (Sonnenhof was closed despite booking for 27 people), we can only recommend the accommodation.

Very rustic guesthouse suitable for backpackers and hikers. Room prices are adjusted, we are very friendly and accommodating. The food tasted delicious, there was no menu but there was a choice between two dishes.

After we booked a large holiday apartment, we had to stay overnight in the so-called "holiday house". No trace of cleanliness and with 2 electric heaters it was "cold as hell".No washing up facilities in the mini kitchen. There are better holiday homes for the overnight price, and the billing was incorrect.Unfortunately, this bungalow is not recommended!!!P.S. Breakfast and dinner were very good.Have stayed better and cheaper.There are also "subtenants" See hole in the panels.The innkeepers were hospitable!

We needed a place to stay overnight after a funeral at very short notice because the weather was changing. Even though it was actually closed, he took us in and gave us a nice welcome and hospitality. This is not a given and we are very grateful to him. We'd love to come back.

We stayed at the Tannen-Hof for 4 nights. Everything was great. Guests and children very warm and familiar. I would recommend this guesthouse 100 percent. Greetings from Thale am Harz and thank you for everything.

We had booked 3 days for 4 adults. According to the reservation confirmation, an apartment with 5 beds was reserved for us.After 2 hours of travel, we were supposed to stay overnight in a small bungalow with ONE bedroom + 1 couch.This was of course impossible. The owner apologized for her oversight but there was no interest in resolving the situation.Furthermore, the sauna, which was previously explicitly asked for, should no longer work.Conclusion: Even if you contact us by phone beforehand, there is no guarantee that it will work.So back home and no vacation in Saxon Switzerland.Very unfortunate

Nice place to spend the night if you walk the Malerweg. Located a bit out of the way but definitely worth it. Simple but more than enough food, the omelette is recommended. Also a great breakfast. You can have a drink in the common room until late. It has a bit of a friendly mountain hut atmosphere. Friendly owner and his family.
