We stayed at the Park Hotel for one night. The atmosphere is very bright and friendly. The room was neat, plain and simple. WiFi access from the house was available, but it's a shame when the network function of the Smart TV was deactivated. The bathroom was rather small. The shower doors were broken (rust & mold).The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty, and the staff was friendly.

So just between us, 2 nights with breakfast in a comfortable room for €372, that's a lot more than the almost new Best Western Blue in the center of Leipzig for 3! nights - you have ideas and wishes when you arrive here.So what you don't really want are dimly lit ceiling lights similar to Japanese rice paper lamps full of flies, empty minibars, minimal shower/toilet combination, etc.Who wants to come to dinner or breakfast today and wait forever to be seated?I really think the old GDR ritual is outdated.What is also not possible is that after eating the booked half board, people think about going somewhere else because it wasn't enough.I can continue with what I didn't like.For example, the room in which the buffet is set up is so small that due to the closeness of the person next to you, corona, flu or something else could find the best ways to pass it on.And a word about the service in the hall.Our Czech waiter was very lucky that he was no longer responsible for our table from the second evening onwards. I found him to be extremely inattentive, condescending and narcissistic and we would have refused his services on the second evening.Well, you can't get good things for good money everywhere in the East.So never come here again in this situation.

Have been to the Parkhotel again. I have to say that since the Pura Group took over the hotel in 2016, the red pen has ruled. The only thing that has become more expensive is the price per night. On the topic: I have to pay for room cleaning, but it will only be done if a separate sign is hung on the door. For me the quality and quantity of the breakfast was particularly bad. At that time there were fish platters, a wide range of sausages including liver sausage, blood sausage, bratwurst, minced meat, etc., a large selection of fruit, cakes, etc. Completely normal for a 4 star hotel. But what was there looked like it came from a discount store and was 30% vegan. Who eats this?? The worst thing, however, was that the requested offerings, such as scrambled eggs, fried eggs, etc., were only refilled upon request. Even orange juice was a problem. Whatever the ambience and surroundings are, things have to be rethought with the guest in mind. The price/performance ratio is not justified. I'm sorry, but that's the reality. Unfortunately disappointing.

Very nice hotel with very large rooms, which unfortunately are not air conditioned. This is unfavorable in midsummer.The food was excellent, although the portions were rather small.The breakfast buffet also has a large selection, everything is very high quality.The service and the employees were also very friendly and accommodating.

I returned after a 10km walk and felt very hungry and thirsty. Advertising was advertised everywhere in the park, open from 12 p.m. Pustekuchen was... I was there 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., asked for a toilet and asked if you could sit on the terrace. A dear colleague told me yes. Then 8pm after 12pm still nothing happened. I thought I'd call and ask when the restaurant was open. The young man said from 12 o'clock. I thanked him for the 30 minute (20 minute) wait and left. I will definitely not recommend this hotel and restaurant.

We were guests at the hotel for a week.The location of the hotel is very beautiful and a great starting point for hikes and excursions.The room and bathroom are a good size, but unfortunately the furnishings are quite old and the cleanliness was not good.With a few exceptions, the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff in the restaurant left a lot to be desired.When reserving a table for the evening, you should be able to expect brief information stating that it is not possible to eat à la carte, but that there are only two dishes to choose from.The breakfast buffet was good and there should be something for everyone.The reception staff were very friendly.We didn't use the sauna or the outdoor pool.All in all not a 4* standard.

We had a very nice short break for 3 nights at the Parkhotel.Our room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was very varied, delicious and left nothing to be desired. We were greeted warmly every morning. Dinner was good and the bar made us refreshing drinks at any time with lots of hospitality.The hotel complex is beautifully maintained and the outdoor pool is a great way to cool off after a beautiful hike. Great starting point for many great experiences in the beautiful Elbe Sandstone Mountains. We would love to come back again. Thank you for the lovely days.

Unpleasant holiday experience with the departure of our VW T5 bus and stolen e-bikes.I don't actually rate very often, but an incident like this and the behavior of this hotel manager has now caused me to leave a review with one star.The more upscale rooms in the residence with a view of the Elbe also leave a lot to be desired. Worn carpet with some unsightly stains and the furnishings from the balcony for 4 stars.Nevertheless, until the incident, our vacation was initially relaxed and pleasant.The breakfast, the location and the staff are particularly noteworthy here.Only the hotel manager, Mr. Gorny, beamed with impudence, inappropriate comments and a lack of compassion and accommodating when our car was broken into in the hotel's parking lot and our e-bikes were stolen. A VW Bus T5 with completely darkened windows at the rear. Broken in through the sliding door with the window broken.Luckily the rest of the staff were very caring and helpful and provided us with foil and tape. They also gave us the tip about carglass...but unfortunately they couldn't help us either.So we had to start our long journey home, almost 700 km, with a taped window.Unfortunately, the stress with repairs and insurance continues at home.Once again, big praise for their helpfulness and effort...to the flower fairy Madlen and the team.

We were hotel guests Thursday to Sunday. Staff friendly, rooms clean. Breakfast also has everything you could want. And dinner was always a pleasure. We saw a lot and ended the day in the evening with a view of the Elbe. I can only recommend it

We were hotel guests from Friday to Sunday and are thrilled with our short break. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, the staff is friendly and the wellness facilities are good. We didn't use the sauna. The outdoor pool and grounds are well maintained. In the afternoon you can sit comfortably in the garden and have a drink and look at the Elbe. We'd love to come back! Thank you for the lovely stay and five stars for the overall package.

The stay at the Parkhotel Bad Schandau was unfortunately disappointing. The exterior of the hotel building is showing its age and clearly shows the need for renovations. It no longer looks contemporary and could urgently use a refresh.The surroundings of the hotel, however, are beautiful. The location directly on the Elbe and the surrounding nature offer a wonderful backdrop for walks and relaxation.Particularly noteworthy is the very beautiful wedding hall.This space is impressively designed and offers a romantic atmosphere that is ideal for special occasions such as weddings.Unfortunately, the positive impression of the surroundings and the wedding hall was greatly marred by the unfriendly and unmotivated staff. We were guests at a wedding and felt unwelcome from the first encounter with the staff. Our questions were answered curtly and it seemed like every additional request was a burden on the staff. This impression continued throughout our one-day stay - service staff were often unavailable and showed little interest in ensuring guests had a pleasant stay.Unfortunately, the wedding hall in question is also not air-conditioned. With 30 degrees outside and what felt like 40 degrees in the hall, this was almost unbearable. Since we didn't sleep in this hotel, I can't provide any information about the rooms.Overall, I cannot recommend the Parkhotel Bad Schandau due to the poor service and the condition in need of renovation. Unfortunately, the beautiful surroundings alone are not enough to compensate for the hotel's shortcomings. It's a shame that such a beautiful piece of earth is overshadowed by the lack of motivation of the service staff in the hotel.

We were guests at a wedding reception and didn't stay overnight there. Therefore I can't say anything about the rooms. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and the wedding ceremony, a few meters from the Elbe under old trees, has something special.But a wedding depends on the service staff.We were there about 30 minutes before the official start and wanted to have a soft drink in the restaurant on the terrace there. We politely checked in and I just as politely asked for some much-needed refreshment. That was either not possible or there was no interest on the part of the staff in the small extra turnover. In any case, we got up at some point without having accomplished anything and joined the wedding party. Without the hoped for refreshment. At almost 30 degrees Celsius in the shade, not quite optimal. It was still a good 2 hours until the champagne reception. Overall, the staff gave an unmotivated and almost unfriendly impression. Guests who expressed wishes obviously don't fit into the picture. The bottle of wine that we ordered after the official coffee but before the next program item was collected directly at the table. I have never experienced anything like this at a wedding reception. Even the hosts were horrified that guests at the celebration were being paid extra. When we went into the really beautiful ballroom a few minutes later, exactly the same wine was served🤷♂️🙈. In really summery temperatures there was no air conditioning 😱. The air was still and you could almost cut her. The guests had to go out constantly to avoid losing circulation. I gave the two stars for the beautiful location. The rest don't deserve any in my opinion. A pity. We definitely won't be going here again.
