Jewel of home-style cookingThe Gasthof Traube in Konstanz Staad impresses with honest, home-style cuisine and a remarkably good price-performance ratio. Hospitality is still alive here, and you can tell that immediately in the friendly, attentive service and the cozy atmosphere. To start, we enjoyed a homemade beef broth with delicious, homemade liver dumplings - wonderfully hearty and perfectly seasoned. The fresh leaf salad was crisp and lovingly prepared, with a fine, homemade dressing. For the main course we chose the Soay sheep ragout from our own farm – a real highlight. Soay sheep are a rare, ancient breed of sheep from Scotland that are known for their particularly aromatic and slightly gamey taste. The ragout was delicately braised and had a wonderfully delicate taste that harmonized wonderfully with the fluffy potato dumplings. The sliced veal in cream sauce with mushrooms and homemade spaetzle was in no way inferior: the meat was tender as butter, the sauce was wonderfully creamy and the spaetzle was just right - light and with a nice bite.We were completely impressed by the Gasthof Traube - a gem of home-style cuisine, which is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare, and a must for lovers of regional cuisine who value good, fresh ingredients and a cozy ambience.

It was my first time in this inn, which has been around for a long time and is family-run.We spontaneously decided to have dinner and went there without making an appointment. Luckily it was only 5 p.m., so we got a seat. The service was very friendly, prompt and helpful. To sum it all up, the food was very good and the price-performance ratio was absolutely ok. I was surprised by the charm of this Gadthof. Everything is a little old, but it is still well maintained. You can also sit outside here in summer. There are even offers for overnight stays.Everyone was very satisfied and will definitely visit again.

Beautiful rooms, some recently renovated. Super quiet. Beer garden closes at 9 p.m. Then dead silence. Good breakfast. We would be happy to come back a fifth time. …

Went on a short vacation with family for 2 days. Were very satisfied with the regional breakfastNo unfulfilled wishes. Girls were very satisfied, that says it all 😉Parking space was included. Subject to availability. TOPThe ferry and the bus station were about a 5 minute walk with the Lake Constance map, the bus connections etc. Including I drove directly to Konstanz City about 10-15 minutes.Top location from our point of view.Totally recommended!
