The accommodation is ideal for the 2-day Wacholderweg hike.The owners are very friendly and we even got an excellent homemade dinner because we hadn't taken into account that all other restaurants in Hohenburg were closed on Monday.The breakfast buffet is excellent, the rooms are clean and the garden with pool is very nice.We'd love to come back!

I spent a week with the Stauber family in Hohenburg with my son. We liked it very much. The entire Stauber family treated us like we were family. Home-baked rolls, home-made jam and home-baked cakes are served fresh every day. We enjoyed using the garden, the pool and the large gas grill extensively. They even cooked fresh food for us when the local restaurants were closed. There is a juniper gin that is produced exclusively for the Stauber family by a small distillery. The Jura trail and juniper hiking trail lead directly through Hohenburg. Amberg and the lake district around Schwandorf are a stone's throw away and highly recommended. The area around Hohenburg is wonderful for cycling and hiking, in short, for a really relaxing holiday in the Upper Palatinate. My son and I felt very comfortable here. I can only recommend this Pension Stauber and I will always go on holiday with the Stauber's alone or with my son in the future. The next stay is already planned for the end of September.

The guesthouse is very cozy, there is a sauna and an outdoor pool. The hosts are super friendly, they baked cakes themselves and we were served a delicious dinner. Because everything in the area was closed. I can only recommend this guesthouse. We were super satisfied and would go back at any time.

Everything was fine and to our complete satisfaction. We visited as friends and family to hike on the Wacholderweg. The Stauber couple looked after us very kindly and courteously; they served delicious homemade cakes and jam. The sauna and grill have also been prepared. We felt very comfortable here! Thank you for your hospitality!

Very nice “uhrige” guesthouse, in a very nice location. Beautifully landscaped garden with pool, with lots of fruit bushes that invite you to snack.

Small guesthouse with a good breakfast and a beautiful garden with pool.There are nice seats in and around the house and dogs are allowed. Mr. and Mrs. Stauber are extremely nice hosts. We were there for the second time and felt very comfortable.

We were there over the weekend. The apartment is very large for 4 people and is actually equipped with everything you need. The only thing missing in the kitchen is a few real glasses (currently mainly wheat or Kölsch glasses) and a few sharp knives. Otherwise the area is great for hiking or cycling. WiFi is available but only worked sporadically for us, but it was enough for planning tours etc

Absolutely wonderful! I hiked the Jurasteig from a little before Kallmunz to Hohenburg (totalled 40km that day), arriving very tired. The family was so kind and accommodating, and the Pension is lovely. Everything was immaculately clean. The pillows and blankets were soft and fluffy, the bed sturdy and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing! The homemade jams were so good, i would have bought jars of each if i weren't hiking 40km home. There was a great assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, spreads, fresh-cut fruit salad, coffee juice and water, and eggs cooked fresh on request.Excellent location on the Jurasteig, and the owners make it a treat to experience such warm hospitality. Would gladly come again!(Though not everything is to everyone's taste, I found the decor charming and pleasant. It's not "modern," but everything is taken care of very well and looks like new even though in an older style. Makes it feel more like home than a generic hotel, and i liked that. In the room I had, the heater worked quickly and strongly. The shower had great water pressure and a wonderful temperature range.)

Very friendly hostess. Unfortunately, I found the apartment to be very outdated. The water pressure in the shower was too low and overall everything could have been cleaner.I can't say anything about the rest of the offer (sauna, pool, breakfast) because I/we didn't use it.

I arrived here after my hike when it was 35 degrees and then the guesthouse has a beautiful garden with a pool and sun loungers. That was really wonderfully refreshing and appropriate. That's why I have to give 5 stars.
