Unfortunately the campsite is getting old. Staff is very friendly, but the place was much nicer before moving on to the rainbow group. Restaurant closed, WiFi doesn't work, although you still have to pay for it. Partly showers broken, shower time 50 cents for 2 minutes and it takes a while until warm water comes. There are very few shopping opportunities and short opening times. The worst thing is that in order to drain gray water you have to lift up a manhole cover. I have a really hard time with my back, which isn't possible these days. We won't be coming back.

Very nice location, large and clean toilet block, shower works strangely, you have to pay outside the cubicles. Someone from our party was in the wrong shower, a different one than the one he had paid for and therefore had to change for a while. Shower is €0.50 cents per 2 minutes.

We booked online a few hours in advance. The journey from the Ruhr area is completely fine, but there is a bit more traffic on public holidays.Arrival time at 6:00 p.m. is fine despite the reception being closed, cell phone number is available. The site is on the main road, protected by a hedge. We had a grassy area and about 200m to the toilet, shower and washroom.Electricity available directly at the parking space for 2 parking spaces in the 3er CEE.The staff is very nice, funny and we got everything we needed. The place is well maintained, autumnal with great leaves from the trees. There's even a playground! In the sanitary rooms it was cozy and warm, underfloor heating and almost always clean except for the showers (black mold in the joints - that needs to go away, please).€0.50 for a 2 minute shower is totally fine.Bus connection to the castle cable car is complicated with changing 810 to Bad Harzburg Bahnhofsplatz and then directly from there with a second bus to the castle cable car. Information about departure times is available at the campsite, the stop is Gönnigerode at the campsite! For return trips, please check bus schedules, not every bus takes “Route 2” to Gönnigerode!!!The steam locomotive costs €55.00 per adult to get to the Brocken, but you first have to go to Wernigerode and it's 3 hours 30 minutes one way to get to the Brocken. We didn't do that, this morning I also read that the steam locomotive had been discontinued by the Harz narrow gauge.I didn't see anything else great at the campsite, no activity apart from an Oktoberfest, but you couldn't get any food according to a list. The mini market and the bread roll ordering service are running, everything is okay in terms of price! Thanks but we agree with the previous review - there are nicer places in the Harz. We take great mushrooms from the Harz and a few kilometers.
