Well... what can you write... The location of the guesthouse on the edge of the forest is very nice and the walk into town is also easy. Ditto the magnificent view of the Lower Saxony plain in front of Bad Harzburg.There are no separate parking spaces for guests of the guesthouse, so you have to park your car on the (unpaved!) street. It's not possible to reach the guesthouse with clean shoes, ditto the car.The welcome is very friendly and explains everything important for the overnight stay or breakfast times. Immediately in the entrance area you will be informed of the currently valid Corona rules. However, this also seems to be a particular concern of the guesthouse hosts - the path to reaching the room feels like it's 'paved' with instructions, which becomes particularly absurd when the hallway on the upper floor doesn't even allow for the desired distances.The rooms and the bathroom, like the guesthouse as a whole, make a clean impression.However, the whole house smells very musty and old-fashioned... this is either because there is not enough ventilation or the thousands of porcelain objects (including yellowed price tags) have missed the changing times. In terms of style, the furnishings here felt left standing 50 years ago... If you like it... hmmm... you can, but my wife and I can't.Room 5, which we had, seemed very cluttered. Less would have been more. The bed mattresses were fine and we slept well there. The area was also absolutely quiet.Now for breakfast - dry rolls that we haven't seen in a bakery for a long time, a kind of 'test tube' of orange juice, counted butter and a cross-section of cold cuts (cheese/sausage)... hmhm... No, the breakfast was miserable ... the jams in the plastic cups were mostly 3/4 years past the date... reorders were also not possible.My wife and I were served for 90 per night... this was not how we had imagined our stay, despite all the friendliness.I don't even want to write that it would be enough for fitters who also spend the night there, because they are also entitled to better, from our point of view, accommodation.

Clean, lovingly furnished old-fashioned guesthouse in the forest with a beautiful view.Breakfast could be a little more varied and include fruit. A sign regarding the mask requirement at the entrance to the house would definitely be sufficient. Too many of these signs have an oppressive effect.Very positive: We were allowed to park our 2 motorcycles on the fenced property.The landlady is always approachable and very accommodating."

There was a good breakfast and the rooms were clean. Only the WiFi wasn't that good in some places, which is why only 4 stars.

It was really great. We had a very clean room with a great view. The Harz is worth a trip as a family.The breakfast was great. A really lovely couple who run the Waldhaus. We would come back at any time.

Very friendly hosts. Simple but clean rooms. Great breakfast and a super cheap price. Plus the great location right on the mountain. Can I definitely recommend!
