Great vacation for families. Friendly hosts and everything is easy to reach

So far we are thrilled!

In the last... maybe 10 years we have definitely been to the Kleyhauer family 6 or 7 times. Our children may not have always been happy with the WiFi reception ;-), but they were always happy to be there and left the farm feeling deeply relaxed, as if after an extended wellness holiday.What could that have been about? Maybe it was the lack of urban noise; Occasional noise from the neighboring yard is far less stressful on the nerves than constant traffic noise. Maybe it was the fresh air, which was enjoyed in abundance throughout the day, which awakened the children's desire for adventure and play (until they were too old and could find enough corners in the yard to chill out).It was certainly also the relative proximity to the beach and the sea. Relatively, because although it takes about 10 minutes to reach one of the beaches around it, it's really not a great distance for an extended beach visit. After visiting the beach, you can simply leave the hustle and bustle of the very touristy towns right by the sea behind you at the end of the day to enjoy the silence of the farm again.The farm itself offers plenty of opportunities for children to work out. Sandpit with climbing tower for the little ones, equipment on the football field (with goals) for the older children, a very good trampoline, a respectable fleet of vehicles (large Kettcars, for example) and of course the hay barn where the children can romp around on and in the hay can. Cool thing. Inside there is a table football, table tennis and other entertainment.There are opportunities here and there for adults to retreat to the yard in the sun or shade. Of course, this is not a wellness hotel. But I have rarely been able to leave an accommodation more relaxed than here.For the children: there is a rowing boat in a small canal not far from the farm. Children should not be sent alone because the water is deep enough for precaution. You can never accidentally drive into the sea (too far away - and you just can't go any further when you reach the sea).Fishing is possible on the small bridge over the canal. It's not mine - I just wanted to mention it.The rooms (we stayed in 3 of the 4 apartments offered over the years) were always above unreasonable criticism. This is a former farm; Anyone who is used to the comfort of a 5-star hotel with a king-size bed and service in the room will have to make compromises. The appropriate level of comfort and, above all, cleanliness is absolutely guaranteed.We once booked the Heu Hotel for a short weekend trip. We spent two nights there quite well (the kids slept like logs - so it couldn't have been uncomfortable).We have been self-sufficient for all these years. There is a kitchen in all apartments with all the appliances you need. There are supermarkets in both directions about 7 km away (Jever on the one hand, Hohenkirchen on the other - both places with a large selection of discounters and supermarkets).Our children have now outgrown the yard a bit - and some of them are longing for something other than the sea and the beach. But I'm sure that if we wanted to go to the sea again, the children wouldn't be against it. And we would like to go back to the Kleyhauer family.

Super nice family farm. We recommend.

It's very cozy and you can get the tastiest kale here. A great atmosphere when the fire is burning.

We spent 2 nights here at the Heuhotel, a new experience as it was our first visit to the Heuhotel. Since several hay corners were right next to each other and were only separated from each other by a few boards, you could hear everyone's words and were therefore forced to speak in whispers or not at all. Unfortunately, the space in front of the sleeping area was quite small, so there was hardly any room for bags or something similar. Since the sleeping places are directly under the roof, it was very warm here and the hay was so worn out on the second night that you basically slept on a board. Unfortunately there was only one power socket for the 5 of us, but there was a good WiFi connection everywhere. Most of the residents shared the bathroom down the hall, but since we are early risers it was always free during our times. The bathrooms were also clean. The breakfast was extremely tasty, the selection was amazing...for the price it was really better than some 5 star hotels. It was definitely worth the experience, but I wouldn't visit a hay hotel again. The surroundings of the farm were very beautiful, the owners were extremely friendly and the walk to the beach wasn't too far. Unfortunately, the area around the yard (e.g. at the barbecue area) wasn't very clean and the grill was pretty much grilled down. Go-karts, some animals (but it's no longer a real farm) and a quiet area make it a great place for children. Nice family, super sweet dog and great breakfast!

Simply great, the overall package is just right!!
