There is no longer a Dümmerhotel Strandlust... the website is no longer accessible and an answering machine only informs you that the hotel is closed and that further information can be found on the website.It's a shame... a wonderful house on the Dümmer less...

The hotel is well located with a view of the lake. We paid extra to have a room with a balcony overlooking the lake.What was negative was that it was very loud on the balcony due to the restaurant/terrace below. There was also a continuous balcony to the next room. There was no privacy screen and only a rectangular flower box as a separation. Anyone could have joined the other on the balcony at any time. As guests of the hotel, we had different access to the restaurant with terrace than guests from outside. We were asked every day if we would like to reserve a table for the evening. If not, that wouldn't be a problem, there would always be a place for us. However, it was not possible to express a specific table request. Since we didn't want to sit in the middle, we didn't do it. When we saw several free tables on the terrace one day, including the table we wanted, we decided to eat there. There were only four tables available. The tables for two were occupied. When we were seated the waitress came and said that we couldn't just sit there. There would be a lady at the entrance who would lead us to the table.Since we used the other entrance, of course we didn't see them either. It was at the other entrance. Apart from that, we later saw that she was dressed like someone who had just come from the beach and not like someone who worked in a restaurant. Since there was no reserved sign on the table and the table was free, we obviously couldn't understand the problem as to why we couldn't sit there. After several back and forths we were able to stay there; they had obviously given up. During our stay we noticed that there were always four to five tables free the whole time. New guests kept coming and sitting down without being led there by anyone. The waiter who was responsible for this table area said nothing about it. So why this theater before? When speaking to the managing director the next day, his business policy became clear. He did not change his position that so far all the guests liked being shown to their seats. I have never seen such a stubborn and stubborn person. He had absolutely no understanding of our concern that we would like to decide for ourselves where we would like to sit. At the edge and not in the middle. Nothing was reserved but free.The next few days we preferred to eat somewhere else.Not recommended.

We visited the restaurant. The food was good, as was the pace of the individual courses. The service was very nice.But what was very derogatory was the reservation. We would have liked to book 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. but that wasn't possible, either 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. At 7.30 p.m. there were around 8 guests in the restaurant. That wasn't customer friendly.

Can only rate the restaurant. We ate well and sat comfortably. If you have a dog, you should definitely make a reservation. There are two dining rooms and only one allows dogs.

The restaurant/hotel is located directly on the beach. The menu is small but offers a variety of dishes.The dishes are tasty and visually appealing.The dishes can vary in scope (potion size) every day.So it was passed once and very modest two days later.The quality is consistently very good.The desserts make a great final point.The service team was very friendly, the boss couldn't express it like that ;).You should make a reservation, especially if you want to see the lake.
