Gutsausschank: very comfortably furnished, the food was excellent, almost all dishes are available in two different portion sizes, so you have the opportunity to try a little more without having to have huge portions. We thought the wine was great, already the number one dry Gutsriesling, classically crisp, just as you would imagine a dry Riesling to be.

This review refers to the wine shop. First of all: The sparkling wine (all made using the champagne method!) and wines from Schönleber are among the best in the Rheingau. Therefore, I can only recommend ordering sparkling wine here or trying it at wine festivals.Unfortunately, a visit to the wine shop is not worth it. Since we would have liked to try the different sparkling wines, we called in advance to make sure that the wine shop was occupied. When we were there, we were offered a tasting for €8 per person when we asked. However, this would not have included any sparkling wine, as none was kept cold. So we gratefully declined and left after a few minutes with just a bottle of the champagne we already knew.Other winemakers, including those in Oestrich-Winkel, welcome guests much more warmly, offer advice and offer their range for sampling. Therefore, I do not recommend visiting the wine shop here.

During our visit we came across an impressive variety of first-class sparkling wines and wines, the taste of which reflects the characteristic features of their various growing regions. The advice was not only professional, but also warm, which made the purchase a special experience. This family of winemakers is characterized by their passion and commitment to quality. Every wine lover, regardless of personal taste, will find what they are looking for here. An excellent range enriched by the experience and tradition of the winemaking family. Absolutely recommended for anyone who appreciates and wants to experience real wine quality.

We were at the tasting days with an open vineyard on August 21st, 2021.We got a wine for the price of €3 for 0.1 liters. There was a small selection of food; we chose potato dumplings with chanterelles (€ 12.-). A mini portion came, and the potato dumplings turned out to be gnocchi. These weren't even browned yet.I understand wanting to charge a higher food/drink price for the live music starting at 4 p.m., but here's what happened:Live music should be performed from 4 p.m. At 4 p.m. sharp, the musician set up his system. This lasted until around 4:45 p.m. When there was still no music playing at 4:55 p.m., we decided to leave. We then had the dinner we had actually planned in another restaurant where the price was right.

We are very satisfied, discovered years ago as an insider tip by a friend, and we have been there every now and then since then because it is very easy to reach from Wiesbaden. Nice personal service also child friendly. Personal, friendly speech that used to come from the senior boss, now from his son and his wife. The food is delicious. Wine and sparkling wine are of course very good quality. Prices are in my opinion appropriate. There is also a very good parking situation which makes the stay and the decision to arrive much easier.

Four of us were at Schönleber on May 31, 2020.Unfortunately I have to say that the wine prices are a bit excessive.3.50 € for a piffche of wine (0.1) which isn't even particularly good, well it's also a matter of taste. We had three different ones and none justified the price. Also the menu, Corona or not: fries €5.50, sausage salad just under €15.00Others do it much cheaper and I can't say whether it's better because we didn't take up the offer, but 2km further on the sausage salad was very good for €9.90No menu or wine list on the tables, this is better organized at other wineries or locations. In short, a place that is suitable for Frankfurt or similar tourists because they are used to these prices. Not an option for locals.
