After a hike, we spontaneously wanted to visit the wonderfully located Magdalenenhof for a meal.The friendliness stopped right at the reception: after we were asked whether we had reserved and said no, we were promptly told that nothing was available and nothing would become available. I know from experience that motivated staff in other restaurants are able to offer creative solutions. This was rejected here with a deliberately annoyed tone.Conclusion: Great location but unfriendly and unmotivated staff, so we have to let our anger subside until we maybe try again.

We recently visited the Magdalenenhof for the first time with friends, based on a recommendation. The food was very good, and the atmosphere also invites you to linger. Unfortunately the service was very poor from the start and spoiled our stay. Since we didn't feel like we were in good hands as guests, we won't be visiting again for the time being. But if you value a good price-performance ratio, you can't go wrong here.

Nice winery with nice, spacious rooms and balcony. Everything you need is there. Clean and well maintained. The beds were a bit hard but perfectly fine. Good breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. Chicly furnished restaurant with a great view. Nice staff. Generous parking space

Great location, very nice view. Good to average food and wine selection.Partly - regarding small events or requests from hotel guests - very reserved, questionable communication. The MH sees itself as a “restaurant with a range of drinks and food”; Overnight guests should know this.

This is a wonderful place to be. Lovely vineyards and a great place to stay. Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday and Tuesday, so the kitchen and the wine tasting were closed (specifically on those days), but they have fridges in the communal areas where you can buy a bottle and try the wine yourself. Very easy and relaxed. Getting to the b&b is a bit difficult, but the views are great and the stay is comfortable and nice.

I think it's a shame that such a great property is being destroyed by the employees and their service attitude/behavior. We wanted to eat something there but hadn't booked a table. Everything was empty, but the listless, annoyed statement was - no chance, everything was fully booked. There was no rain in sight and yet no one was allowed on the completely free outdoor terrace. No, we're not occupying them, it could still rain. They didn't feel like having guests and when I read the reviews now, I'm glad that we received a very friendly welcome 200m away and ate very well!

We really enjoy coming to eat at Magdalenhof.We have already spent the night there.The ambience is beautiful. Very cozy inside, the terrace is very inviting with a dream view.The food was good.Unfortunately, the young ladies in service didn't make a good impression.No smile on the face. They just seemed annoyed. Too bad!

The winery is beautifully located and has a great view and a beautiful terrace.Unfortunately we couldn't sit on the terrace or in the winter garden. When we asked, we were told that there were only two tables for two available and that we wouldn't fit well with eight people. Actually there was still enough space. They had closed the terrace because it had rained three drops and when we were there it was sunny the whole time.The service staff were very unmotivated and it gave the impression that they didn't enjoy their work.When ordering we were told that chicken, wild rice, dill sauce, strawberries were out. There were at least four dishes with chicken on the menu, how can it be that so many things are out on a Sunday evening?We didn't feel comfortable. We didn't ask if we would like anything else to drink, etc.All in all, a disappointment.We wouldn't come back

We ate there again yesterday after a long time and I personally didn't think the food was good. I ordered fried noodles with colorful vegetables and chicken and what came out was an Asian pan with a few colorful vegetables and chicken pieces that you can buy pre-seasoned at a discount store somewhere. Everything is expensive now, understandably, but quality and price should still meet somewhereThe food didn't taste good at all. The waitress accepted it. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time that the food wasn't tasty. It's a shame for such a beautiful inn.

We were here for dinner for the second time and were once again annoyed by the listless young ladies in service. Not only did it take forever for someone to come to take the drinks, you also feel like you're being a nuisance when you ask for another drink or a straw for the children. The food and wine were really very good on the first visit, so we gave the Magdalenenhof another chance, unfortunately the evening was again overshadowed by poor service and this time the food was rather mixed. (This was probably because the cook was unavailable, as we were told.) It's a shame, because the Magdalenenhof is actually a pearl in the Rheingau. For our part, we will probably go somewhere else next time with friends and family.
