I spent a “girls holiday” with my daughter and two granddaughters, aged 5 and 7, in the Eifel holiday home Sonnenhang for 6 days. The welcome from Mr. Wisemborsky was very warm and he showed us around the beautifully furnished holiday home, which is on two floors due to the hillside location. The view from the living room was phenomenal and you couldn't get enough of the beautiful scenery. What was very pleasant in the house was that the slatted frames of the beds could be adjusted and you didn't need to take bed linen or towels with you. The beds were very comfortable and the towels were also nice and soft. But unfortunately not everything was nice in this house and criticism can also be made here:There wasn't really anything missing in the kitchen, but it was arranged in a very confusing way. A bit of each, but unfortunately scattered everywhere in different drawers or behind cupboard doors and sometimes old work materials (e.g. wooden boards and old knives with wooden handles), which could be replaced. Sometimes you were looking for something stupid, but the holidaymakers there must have put everything away somehow, as long as it was out of the way under their feet ☹In one compartment in the kitchen there was even an unfinished bottle of mayonnaise and an unfinished bottle of ketchup. You should take a look in the cupboards here before your next rental. A fly screen on the window would perhaps be recommended, at least in the kitchen and also in the bedrooms and living room. Fly swatters were, however, in moderation.Appropriate rubber door seals on the wooden doors would also be recommended, because you couldn't open and close a door quietly without disturbing others. We were surprised and somewhat disgusted by the many, many cobwebs in ALL CORNERS and ceilings. If someone had an arachnophobia, oh dear. The cleanliness really left a bit to be desired.Mr. Wisemborsky pointed out to us that there were two folders in the closet with information about excursions in the area and other useful information. These folders were created very lovingly and required a lot of work. However, the wooden box next to it could completely go into the blue bin, because it contains mostly outdated flyers, some even from the 90s, which you can't do anything with anymore, neither about entrance fees, opening times, etc. You might want to take a look at it every now and then or really throw it away completely.Furthermore, we were very surprised that there was not a single piece of play equipment in the beautiful garden, neither a swing, a slide or anything else. So not necessarily recommended with children in summer. There are games in the closet, but in the summer you just want to get out. A playground is some distance away. But the worst comes to an end here: you can absolutely forget about Wi-Fi and the Internet. We also only saw an amplifier and no router. My daughter and I used up almost all of our data volume because there was almost never any reception and that was a bit strange in this day and age. This could also be changed with appropriate devices. It was also really bad having to endure the constant barking of dogs across the street. On the last day of the holiday the night was over at 6:20 a.m. These dogs perhaps belonged in a dog school where they could learn not to bark at the guests, because these dogs belonged to the landlord's daughter. All in all, we had a wonderful time because there is a lot to discover and see in the Eifel.
