Clean rooms. Owner-managed. They are very friendly and helpful. Located in a remote location, it is very quiet.

We stayed at the country inn for 4 nights so that my wife could attend a workshop in Büchen. We had to book the room in advance without breakfast because the owner said she was temporarily not there. We were offered the opportunity to use the lounge including a small kitchen in the basement. Here, however, we encountered rejection from other guests (or residents?) for no apparent reason, so using it was only partially pleasant. With washing the dishes (which is generally not a problem for us) and self-catering, the stay was more like a holiday apartment than a hotel. Another participant in the above-mentioned workshop told my wife that he had already stayed in this country inn and had not been offered breakfast for the same reason. Whether this is an accumulation of coincidences or a pattern is up to the reader of this review to judge for themselves.The room was normally equipped, not upscale, but not bad either and, above all, clean. The mattresses were comfortable for me, but too hard for my wife, so she got up in the morning with back pain and didn't sleep too well despite the very quiet location. In addition, the room could hardly be described as a family room - my son slept on a fold-out sofa, but he didn't have a real bed of his own. The price/performance ratio of €99 per night - compared to other hotels in the region including breakfast there - is at best okay, but definitely not good.The location is good, close to Büchen and Schwarzenbek, and the motorway is relatively quick. It still takes 45-55 minutes to get to Hamburg.

No more restaurant business, just Hotel Garni. I wanted to rent a room for Sunday to Monday, but unfortunately it wasn't possible because the owner wasn't there... so when booking, always ask first if the owner is on site, otherwise there won't be any rooms

All in all a good mix of price and performance

I was looking for something quiet and relaxed for my business trip... and it's really nice.Quiet and cozy.You can walk to the train station in 10 minutes and be in Hamburg City in 30 minutes.Everyone is super nice.The rooms are super comfortable and clean. Always my pleasure..

Clean and tidy room, very quiet. Unfortunately we couldn't get breakfast and only stayed 1 night.

Very, very nice and courteous operator. The rooms are bright and spacious. There is a small courtyard where you can sit together in the evening.Simply worth the trip.

Great guesthouse.We were accommodated with 12 people from the Husum cycling group. The best scrambled eggs from happy chickens. A great buffet for breakfast. 👍
