We were there with the motorhome on the parking space in front of the campsite. 12 euros a night. We had to pay 5 euros per person to use the shower. It was too much for us. The night was quiet. The parking space is completely okay.

Very nice campsite, short walk to the lake. Clean sanitary facilities. Bread roll service is offered and there is also a small Berger shop. Restaurant right on the square offers delicious food at a fair price. There is a dog salon right at the campsite, which I can only recommend!

Late arrival at the RV park was uncomplicated. Pay the next morning, no problem. Very nice friendly staff. Sanitary facilities neat & clean.

Location: no view of the lake.Price: completely excessive at around €60 per night in the low season.Reception Reception: outstanding. 5 out of 5 stars.Places: completely crooked and rockier like in Croatia.Family recommendation: no or not longer than 1-2 nights.Anyone who has already stayed at a 4 star place will be completely disappointed at this Knauss place.The welcome is warm and with lots of information, very good. There's nothing to complain about here.Many thanks to the nice lady.For everything else, there is a significant maintenance backlog and the space leaves the motivation of the operators,that your guests feel comfortable.I would like to address a few points in detail.The comfort pitches are so crooked that it is not possible to straighten the caravan.The sites are rocky, not well maintained, e.g. regular green maintenance, and the comfort site is right at the entrance and exit of almost all long-term campers.Not a nice place with small children.Unfortunately, the pillars for electricity and water are old and dirty (moss, verdigris) and some of the taps are so leaky that a tight connection of the hose is not possible.Setting up the awning and tying it down took a lot of effort and not all of the pegs were needed because the ground was full of stones/concrete etc.The access to the campsite was open to everyone day and night so that everyone could drive in and out without being checked.Attention, secure your wowa!!!The playgrounds have been partly renovated and are very nice. Although I don't understand why a playground is created between the main road and the entrance to the campsite. At least here you can't let smaller children play alone.Small playgrounds at the caravans or an area just for families would be nicerwith a play island and no traffic.The climbing wall in the youth room has loose and rotating brackets, which poses a significant risk of accidents.There are a few toys in the youth room, although they have all seen better days.Some of the washhouses are dirty, old and some of the joints are covered in black mold. The S1 is the cleanest washhouse.In the other two it smells like pee and in one shower the door in the cabin was broken.The carpets in the entrance areas are also dirty and ripe for intensive cleaning or replacement.The fittings are certainly decades old and some of the chrome has peeled off.There is hot water and the water pressure is more than sufficient.A basic cleaning of the sanitary areas and a replacement of the fittings to a current level would be the minimum here.The panels in front of the washhouse could also use a high-pressure cleaner.I know very well that all of this costs a lot of money, but anyone who runs a 4-star place and charges these prices has to do something for it.I hope that the operators act after so many mediocre to bad reviews and are happy to respond to this.I am sure that if the operators invest here, the guests will be happy to come back and the place will be much better filled with tourists.I wish you all the best and the motivation to tackle things.

Cancel for personal reasons in June 2024and pick up our caravan on June 7 or 8, 24I'm disappointed after going there regularly for almost 2 yearsNow you can'tAdd a dog fence if the caravan stays there for 7 months and if you want a permanent parking space, only 2 dogs are allowed, not 3 like before.When the caravan is gone we won't go there anymore. And the campsite is also busy2 years ago it was even better last year there were still some crowds but from April to June this year there was no dog fence that had to go even though others had oneWe left there in mid-June with our caravan and went somewhere else now because it's better and cheaper than there

Nice, very quiet campsite with the necessary services, clean bathrooms and showers, there are many tents and wooden houses to rent, located just a few minutes from a beautiful lake where you can rent kayaks to have fun for a few hours.

Lots of potential, little done with it! We were there as a family with our caravan and unfortunately we were very disappointed! Everything is very old and unkempt, from the playhouse for the children to the sanitary facilities (washhouse) very dirty and partly moldy! That's just not possible when children have to play in the dirt and you have to clean yourself in a moldy shower. Basically great offers, playgrounds, camper kiosk, a lake and much more, but very poorly maintained.

Spent the night in the safari tent for over a week.We had a really nice view and could admire everything, Fox in the evening and stunt planes in the afternoon. Unfortunately a lot of wasps, but that was insurmountable.A little bit of comfort in the furnished tent would have been nice. Cushions on the sofas and chairs.Very hard mattresses, which I normally don't like.The campsite itself is nice and suitable for small children, but very dated (!).Sanitary facilities and the overall appearance in particular could use a lick of paint.Friendly staff and nice fellow campers/campers.The beach near the campsite is not much, but if you walk down the road towards the larger beach - you can sit and get something to drink.There is plenty to do and see in the area.

We actually wanted to stay at this place for two days, but other than the price it was a no-brainer.WiFi didn't work.The noise from the cable car was unbearableSanitary facilities not clean.Young people with tents and a large music box between the campersThe lake could only be glimpsed through the trees.Organizationally absolutely zeroWe have been campers for almost 40 years, but we have never come across anything like this.We can't understand some people who give more than one star.€50.00 thrown away for one day

Based on the website, we booked a week's holiday in Sauerland by the lake. And were pretty disappointed.Let's put it this way: In 1984, this was definitely a top address. There seems to have been investment since then, but more in quantity rather than quality.Small plots of camping pitches, ours in row B was completely crooked and also very wet. Getting the caravan level was a challenge.I was looking forward to the lake, yes, but... where is it? Down the stairs at the reception, the path through the bushes (full of rubbish), through the underpass, meters across the meadow (full of shit), a little further: Ah, the lake. Or rather: the last muddy, dirty corner of the lake, swallowed up with algae and aquatic plants, populated by swans that dirty the existing swimming island. If you like swimming through water plants, great. Otherwise the operating radius in the water is 10 meters. And be careful of the washed-out concrete edge in the water, you can get injured there. OK for SUPing, otherwise: no. The “site beach” is approximately 5 - 7 meters wide.The place itself: getting old. Nothing has been renovated here for years, instead the focus has been on accommodation. There are mobile homes, rental tents, wooden huts and teepees, but there are sanitary facilities from the old days and a disastrously organized restaurant.The swimming pool was without lifeguards, parents are responsible for their children, I guess. Everything is a little... Well.There was no children's entertainment all week, and I'm not sure whether the "Indian camp How Kola" is still in a modern way.OK just to stay overnight while passing through, I wouldn't vacation here again.

It's our first time here and we're not all that impressed. Comfort pitch without a water connection and a bit difficult for the price. All in all ok but not outstanding. The sanitary facilities are really disgusting, dirty and unkempt. Absolute no-go. Will have been the first and last visit for us.

It is a quite quiet campsite. There are things to do for the little ones, but virtually nothing for teenagers and young people. It is a ten-minute walk from a beautiful part of the Hennessee.
