The staff puts a lot of effort into it. The hotel is a bit old but still nice. There is a lot on offer for children...Food very varied and tasty.

Very, very friendly and patient staff (even if some guests had their meals piled up under the table). The buffet was divided into age-appropriate areas. Plenty of choice, fresh, varied. The entire hotel is completely tailored to families and children. There were many animation offers that were absolutely reasonable in terms of price. Small swimming pool and fitness room included in the price. Dartboards, climbing wall, games room for the little ones... Children can get drinks all day long. Despite there being a lot of people, it was never too loud.The rooms are completely sufficient. If I saw correctly, each one has a balcony. Overall, the equipment is of course not the most modern, but it is ok. Personally, I was bothered by the lamp in the middle of the double bed, which basically protrudes into the bed. The location has a fantastic view, but in the town itself there is nothing that attracts you. Activities outside the hotel can only be reached by car. Very attractive landscape. I would definitely go there again.

It was a really nice family vacation. You will be warmly welcomed upon arrival. Very nice staff at reception. The bar invites you to linger. There was always a program for the children in the kids club. The two young men in the kids club were very friendly. Bingo, crafts, herbal soaps, dancing etc. Falconry show was very fun. The waiters are always friendly and try to accommodate every request. We really liked it and we'll be back.

Overall, I rate the hotel as okay. I spent a long weekend here with my godchild (2 years old) and my best friend. Great facilities are advertised, but your expectations are not met. The games rooms are set up in a way that makes no educational sense. The children get bored quickly and the adults even more so. No building blocks, table and plug-in games, puzzles etc. available. Instead of filling a Basseng foam puzzle, ball pit balls would make more sense. In the movement space for adults there is also not enough materials and possible climbing opportunities. There are only large mats where you can jump around for maybe 5 minutes, but otherwise everything is uninviting and poorly thought out.The swimming pool was also a joke. Cool outside and water temperature, so you don't have to stay there for long with children. Here, too, there is no offer of water play materials, so you quickly get bored. The passage to the bathroom was freezing cold. When you came back from the sauna, you were freezing on the way to your room.The room service upset me the most. The towels on the floor were not replaced. All the recycling bins were emptied, but the diaper pail (which smells after 2 days) was not emptied. The toilet paper was not replaced. The toilet was not cleaned/refreshed. Everything gets messy quicker with a child. The shower mat wasn't changed. Even though we requested “complete cleaning”, the room looked the same as before. Then I cleaned it myself. That's just disappointing. Other hotels try so much harder!The food is OK. We would have liked a little more choice for breakfast, such as waffles or pancakes. This is usually served for dinner, but it's a rather hearty meal. The waffles are better in the morning.In general, the service staff at the reception and bar are very friendly.The hotel itself is nice. But I couldn't stay here longer than 3 days. All in all, it could be modernized a bit & the decoration in the hotel could also be renewed. Dusty plastic plants are simply not inviting. There won't be another visit, that's for sure.I could go on writing forever. But those were the most important points.

Great hotel if families with small children are looking for a place to take a break. Above all, the children are thought of here! (Extra buffet, drinking bottle, play areas, care for different age groups) Good starting point for excursions, but you should be there by car. Some of the charm of the former FDGB home can still be seen. The wellness area makes a newly renovated impression, everything is clean and tidy, a bit small for the size of the hotel.

Super excited. A lot of effort is put into everything. The children are in the foreground (as it should be in a children's hotel). There is a lot on offer. The half board we booked was more than great. Large selection of food and drinks. We were thrilled. Next time we'll take a slightly larger room, otherwise everything is perfectly fine! Swimming pool is also clean including the outdoor pool... I don't even know if I can find anything to complain about. We'll be back! Thank you for everything!

The hotel tries very hard to offer good service, the staff is nice. It's relaxed here despite there being a lot of children.Our dog was also allowed to come along and got bowls.You can't complain about the food at dinner (I had half board child all inclusive). There is enough for every taste. It worked in the morning too. It is more of a hotel aimed at children. There was a large bouncy castle in the afternoon and a variety of programs were offered, although you have to pay extra for the program if you want to take part.There are a lot of things you can do in the surrounding area (although accessible by car), such as tobogganing, boating or simply taking a walk. Not very far to the Saale.Overall we liked it, but I wouldn't go there a second time.

We were able to relax for a week at the Hotel Rennsteig! There were huge bouncy castles, climbing halls, several pools, games and events for the kids. The food and drink was also very varied - even a really good salad bar! And the children actually always enjoyed it – which is rare now. For us parents there was a large bar with extremely delicious cocktails and a sauna to relax. The rooms were clean and the service was really okay. All in all, a real price/performance winner for us. The crowning achievement was the exclusive 3D printer course for all of us... Thank you Marc!

When I arrived I was already skeptical but I wanted to give the hotel a chance. Welcome drink of sparkling wine with orange juice. 🥱Unfortunately it is not possible for me to give more stars. It's like in the GDR, time stands still here. Calling Familotel doesn't help either. It's good that the hotel is hardly booked, you can see that, but shouldn't you think of something then? There is childcare, but the offerings are poor. Everything that is otherwise offered as a “program” is canceled because the minimum number of participants is not reached. The existing guests can't do anything about it. If 8 participants out of 10 register because there are no more guests, it can't be cancelled. What are the alternatives? You're also in nowhere here. Nothing going on but expensive. So definitely too expensive for this offer. None of the guests will come back, especially if you know “real” family hotels. On the day of arrival there was at least a bouncy castle so the children had fun. It stood there for exactly one day and has been covered on the meadow ever since. Playground boring, pool tiny, no toys, sauna area ancient, indoor playground for the older ones consists of half a climbing wall with mats. Complete. Baby room is better but hardly any small children here. Food, well, I say you find something, but that's about it. This stay is definitely not worth the money. Room, hmmm, getting old. Mattresses quite hard, blankets very heavy. But what I don't understand at all and wouldn't be a crazy investment is fly screens. At least in the children's rooms. Always mosquitoes, spiders etc. They only cause stains on the walls, wouldn't that be worth considering? Conclusion: Maybe invest, then adjust prices and offer more. Offering nothing and still being too expensive only ensures that each guest only comes once. You can already see that it's peak season and there's nothing going on. On the homepage there is a hotel restaurant that was never open. The bar is also not open all the time. The shop is always closed, if you want something you should contact the reception. But how are you supposed to know if you want when it's always closed. There are simply not enough staff to clean the childcare and help out everywhere. The owner is doing something wrong. The people who give positive reviews here have never been to a "real" family hotel. Find one. Yes, more expensive, but it leaves nothing to be desired. You don't have to worry about leisure activities, it will be taken care of. And “everything” included. That is probably the crucial difference. No activities, unfashionable and additional costs. Really a shame! Even the coffee and ice cream on site is overpriced. You walk 3 minutes to the bakery and get fresh cake, coffee and ice cream for half the price. But the staff is very nice. They really try very hard. But it doesn't help to overlook the problems.

We were here for the first time and loved it! One thing in advance: You shouldn't be put off by the local conditions in Wurzbach, because the locals and the hotel are the least able to do that. The performance of the staff was outstanding, considering that based on my perception the staffing levels are probably not as high as other hotels.The room we booked (superior 48m²) was in perfect condition. Likewise the bathroom and toilet (can be viewed on the homepage).The breakfast and evening buffets were very rich and prepared with love. Likewise lunch for the children if you booked "Kids All-In" (there was always a starter, 2 main courses to choose from and a dessert for the children). The evening buffet is particularly noteworthy! A poem for the palate. Recommendation to the chef!The child care was great and uncomplicated, so mom and dad had time for themselves!😃 The leisure activities (falconer show, bat hike, guided hike through Wurzbach and the surrounding area, fire brigade performance and other activities) were very nice and well planned).The indoor and outdoor pool, as well as the children's pool were very clean! The toilet facilities at the pools were fine (here too, it has to be said that the doors are made of wood and wood and water doesn't mix well in the long run, especially when there are a lot of children out and about here every day and a lot of water splashing around - that leaves traces, but for me it's not a deficit).Sauna and massage offers: The massage was great and you could relax well. Small deficit: the rooms in the sauna area seemed quite dark, outdated and a bit abandoned; an improvement would be necessary here (for a better wellness feeling - e.g. more modern light, colors, wellness music). However, I cannot judge how often the sauna is used by guests to determine whether it is worth improving.Finally, I would recommend a stay at the Familotel to every family (who is looking for a change from everyday life - less cell phone, console and social media 😉)!The price-performance ratio is okay considering the ever-increasing prices.
