I was up there with my bike today and just wanted to take a few pictures. I received a very warm welcome!Respect to the creators of this beautiful spot in the LK Sonneberg :) Stay healthy! :)Unfortunately there is no gastronomy anymore but that is understandable at some point you want to enjoy your twilight years! :) And I wish that to both of them :)

Unfortunately there is no longer any restaurant operation, only as a guesthouse.Very nice people and a great location, didn't stay overnight but wanted something to eat

A wonderful piece of earth in the middle of the Thuringian Forest located above Steinach in the Sonneberg district. The garden is lovingly landscaped and is lovingly maintained by the landlady. From fish to parrots to guinea pigs, the animal inhabitants couldn't have been better off. The regional cuisine with Thuringian dumplings and roasts is excellent, and the service is also very friendly. It's a shame that the catering business is being discontinued. One can only hope that the Bergmannsklause will be preserved in some form.

It's so beautiful here that it's almost impossible to describe. An absolute “must” Excellent food and pleasant atmosphere in the beer garden. You can also take the delicious smoked trout home with you.The garden, which was created with a lot of love and expertise and has information boards for the respective plants, is a feast for the eyes. We'd love to come back.Unfortunately, catering operations will be discontinued on October 31, 2023.We are sad that we can no longer visit the Bergmannsklause.

A gem in southern Thuringia's “experience gastronomy”! A botanically and zoologically designed and well-maintained outdoor area with a lot of passion and attention to detail invites you to linger and is in no way inferior to many botanical gardens. Respect! We stopped for dinner after a short hike, friendly staff with a heart for animals (our dog was not only welcome, but was also the first to get water), very tasty and fresh food, the trout was sensational. Overall 10 out of 10, thanks to the great team!

A very nice place to relax and strengthen yourself after a hike. A very well-kept garden, you have to see it, a good meal, although my pepper steak was a bit firm and dry but the sauce was excellent

Getting there is not entirely unproblematic when there is oncoming traffic; the road is very narrow and there are hardly any alternatives. The sight of the “Bergmannsklause” and the entire complex in the middle of the forest when you arrive makes it even more worthwhile. It's not just the many flowers and trees that are beautiful, they even have name tags on them. There are also various enclosures with rabbits, parrots and other animals. There is also a trout pond with a water fountain and a small playground for the children. But that's just the external area, because in the middle of this beautiful spot in the forest is the restaurant building with several tables under the trees and between the flowers. I describe the cuisine and service as very good, even if you have to bring your time. Weather permitting, the restaurant is more than well attended. However, it is a real shame that it ends at the end of October. The “Bergmannsklause” closes forever.

The Bergmannsklause leaves nothing to be desired. A well-kept garden area that makes you feel good, high-quality fresh food, own trout farming, clean animal enclosures to the delight of children and adults, very clean rooms, always friendly, always attentive staff. A gem in the countryside that you rarely find anymore.

The Bergmannsklause is definitely worth a trip.But you have to hurry...because from the end of October they will close the doors forever. Unfortunately, it has to be said.The food is very good and the fish from our own pond is excellent.A bit expensive for the average earner, but everyone can decide for themselves whether it's worth it or not.Absolute recommendation!!!
