I ate at Schumann's Gasthaus during my vacation in the Lüneburg Heath and was thrilled! The Heidschnuckenbraten in particular was an absolute highlight – tender, perfectly seasoned and simply delicious. German cuisine in general is excellent and there are many delicious, down-to-earth dishes to choose from. The prices are reasonable for the quality on offer. In addition, the service was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. I can't say anything about the rooms because I didn't rent there. Nevertheless, I can warmly recommend Schumann's Gasthaus - definitely an insider tip!

We spent a week's vacation in the wonderful Lüneburg Heath and chose Schuhmann's Inn and Hotel. We had excellent meals on 6 evenings. Especially the roast lamb with a subsequent cultural encore by host Klaus Schuhmann (you can't describe it, you have to experience it 😆) and the various pumpkin dishes were absolutely delicious prepared by Martin Schuhmann. The service was quick and very friendly. The facility itself has "seen" many guests (nice, happy, grumpy, grumpy...). But everything was super clean and very comfortable. We felt completely comfortable (both in the restaurant and in the room). We would definitely like to come back.

You can politely convey that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. However, dog owners are treated as second-class people, so that manners and friendly speech are not used at all. We were expelled from the restaurant in an imperative manner. Anyone who is like that towards dogs and treats dog owners as second-class people actually has no place in the service area. You should consider whether you want to support such behavior/attitudes.

Went there to eat and got a table inside. The service was a great, courteous, friendly woman. Food was also really very good. At least the three of us enjoyed it. I only have two tiny criticisms. The interior decoration remained at some point in the 80s. Could it be made a little more modern? And secondly, there is a malt drink on the menu. You can't add that it's Vitamalz. Then we wouldn't have ordered it at all. But otherwise a really solid inn that you would like to visit twice.

Looking for talent!In addition to the fact that someone's taste in the decoration was massively wrong (that's just a personal opinion and can be viewed differently), the visit for dinner caused a wonderful day to end in a fiasco.Unfortunately, the waitresses and kitchen staff showed a complete lack of structure and are certainly still looking for their talent.We were seated and received the card for the first time after about 10 minutes. We chose quickly because there were 2 small children in the group so the drinks took a while to arrive.After almost 1 hour (50 minutes) and after asking, we got our food.It was already shortly before 8:00 p.m.The children's plates were served with a lolly on the side.Sorry, but every normal person knows that children will see this and immediately want to eat it. What's that supposed to mean? Or did they want to distract from the subterranean quality of the food?Dish 1: Chanterelles completely overcooked, schnitzel was so hot, most likely from the combi steamerDish 2: Salad was a raw vegetable salad, without finesse, straight from the bucket without a decent dressingCourse 3: Curry with rice. Completely overcooked with a sour taste.Let’s expand on the other dishes. The food is bought from wholesalers and warmed up. In addition to a lack of structure and unmistakable disputes over production, the kitchen has no talent for taste. The waitresses are completely overwhelmed and work with pads of paper, even though any technology available these days could make up for the low staffing levels.At the end, after 8 p.m., the little 2 and 4 year old children get an ice cream. Seriously? Without questions, without looking at the clock, that the children might have to go to bed because their stay has already lasted far too long?Or was this another measure to distract from the quality of the food.The bottom line is: Talent-free staff, old-fashioned working methods and a complete lack of structure at the same time.No thanks! Not again and anyone who would like to have something nice to eat in the evening - Not here!

I'm only reviewing the restaurant here, not the hotel. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour before we were even served a side salad. The actual food was still a long time coming. One meal was returned because it was inedible with overcooked rice and a bitter taste. Since our displeasure was noticed, the children were given ice cream without asking. Dear team, that was meant very kindly, but perhaps a 2-year-old should no longer eat ice cream shortly before going to sleep. The staff tried hard but the plastic flower decorations didn't make it any better, we won't be coming back.

I can't rate the hotel, only the restaurant. After three unsuccessful attempts to get something to eat in Niederhaverbeck, we were grateful that Schumann's inn was open. As with a visit a few years ago, we were thrilled by the friendly service and delicious food and can only warmly recommend the inn!

When we arrived, the restaurant was open, but the kitchen was on break - absolutely understandable! But we were rebuffed so harshly, and when we asked if we could just drink a coffee, we were initially sighed heavily and said that we had to ask first - and in a tone of voice... we left again. Food/hotel cannot be rated because I haven't tried it.

First-class home cooking, prepared with love and possibly the best fried potatoes I have ever tasted. The prices are appropriate for the quality of the food. Great, friendly service.(I can't say anything about the hotel as we only ate there.)

Thank you for the delicious food. Everything freshly made. The fish and asparagus with ham were plentiful. The taste is really very tasty. Reasonable prices. Mr. Schuhmann was super friendly, as was the lovely service. They are very child friendly. We had a great time sitting outside.Thanks!!Can be highly recommended. ;)
