This was our first time in Bad Herrenalb at the Parkhotel Luise. The hotel is very centrally located on a hillside within the city. It has a three-story underground car park (on the opposite side of the hotel entrance) & a few free parking spaces on the entrance side. The first impression when entering the lobby: Wow, very tastefully decorated. After the usual formalities, we went to the prepaid comfort double room. Total price including half board: €1142.90 for 6 nights. Our room was on the 3rd floor, accessible via a small elevator. It was on the far right, which we didn't like. It was pretty gloomy during the day and the view of the parking lots and the neighboring building wasn't quite as sparkling. So went back to reception & asked for another room; Result => The new room was a little larger and had a balcony facing the valley. This made it brighter and seemed much friendlier.Little by little we noticed the following things in the room:CLEANLINESSThe room has its best days behind it. The carpet, for example, was partly quite worn. A closer look revealed clipped toenails from previous guests, used plasters and a dead hornet under or next to the bed.A clear sign that things aren't being cleaned (vacuumed) so thoroughly here. Even after staying for 5 days and cleaning three times, these disgusting things were still there.EQUIPMENTIn the room itself there was 1 small round table and 2 upholstered chairs. One of them was so wobbly that you could move forward like a caterpillar. Our reference to this chair yielded nothing. The ventilation in the toilet didn't work at all. After speaking to reception, we were informed that the ventilation in all toilets had to be switched off due to high levels of noise. The balcony offered us a beautiful view of the valley and the hotel's beautiful garden. But when it rained, the balcony floor was slippery. Other guests also noticed this (we could hear it in the restaurant).Furthermore, the guests above us used our balcony as a dumping ground for bottle caps or clumps of hair.A curiosity on the side: the television was covered with plasters; It's not immediately clear to us why. During the night we could guess why: The blue LED display on the clock is probably so bright that the previous person couldn't sleep and simply got rid of the problem this way.A quick word about the beds: the roll-mounted beds looked very comfortable; But the mattresses were very worn out.STAFFEspecially the staff in the restaurant (there was breakfast and dinner) were very, very nice. The reception was always friendly and accommodating.LUISEN SPA & WELLNESSThe hotel has its own sauna, pool and steam room. The latter was unfortunately out of service at the time of our visit. The sauna was operated daily between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. The cabin was clean & just as you would expect a sauna to be. The shower or bathing areas around the sauna, such as the basins for the foot baths or showers, were partly damaged and partly showed signs of wear and tear. The pool was clean and the water was a pleasant temperature.Right at the beginning we had booked 2 massages for the coming Thursday (5 days in advance). This booking was simply missed. That fit with the whole stay at the hotel.UNDERGROUND CAR PARKThe entrance to the underground car park is on the lower street parallel to the hotel. To get into the underground car park, you have to pick up a code at reception. The parking spaces on all three floors are all quite tight. If the parking garage is largely full, you have to know and master your vehicle in order to drive through or park in the sometimes narrow curves and/or lots. With a station wagon you'll have some trouble. Daily price: 8€

A hotel that is already getting old, but with a few compromises you can have a good time there.Positive: Pool is cozy and water is pleasant, sauna is also available. Hotel has a nice atmosphere, everything is very rustic and tastefully decorated.Food was tasty and sufficient.Cleaning ladies very friendly. Service in the restaurant too. Wi-Fi is free but is not everywhere in the hotel and is very weak.Negative: since we came with a dog, I expected at least a bowl for 20 euros a night. The price is not justified, I had already visited many hotels, even though they wereSince there were no dog hotels, there was a bowl, dog towel and a few treats. Some even had a basket. What was this 20 euros for is a mystery to me.Parking in the garage is a disaster to the third degree. There is an information folder about the hotel in the room, which says that the garage costs 5 euros per night, but when you check out you will be charged 8 euros. Huh????You start to sweat when parking. Very narrow parking spaces, very narrow entrance/exit.We had a double room with frayed towels, the room was clean except for the carpet, which hadn't been cleaned for a long time, the way it looked🫣.There is no information about the surrounding area and excursion destinations.Thank God there is internet.I wouldn't come again.

A very pleasant night spent with family. The staff makes an effort to speak French (much appreciated).Just a good appetite or hello it's already good. At reception the receptionist gave us a sheet translated into French. Evening buffet with wide choice it was announced chicken steak. There was chicken fish ribs....And the breakfast was VERY filling..Establishment to recommend

The hotel is already getting old. A sauna, pool and a broken steam room, oh well. According to information, it will be renovated in January/February.With the guest card you could use public transport. The buses to, for example, Baden-Baden or Bad Wildbad ran every hour. Top!

We were in this house for 2 days,The reception was very friendly, the gentleman was the highlight in the house!!Rooms renovated, but the old wooden doors were retained, many details are totally impractical, no way to hang towels in the bathroom, electric heating in the room, no heating in the bathroom, it was a mystery to us how to dry towels or bathing suits.Bathrobe with bath towel €9The path to the supposed spa area was a disgrace, via a basement staircase covered with dirty carpet.Wellness means feeling good!!!Wellness hotel i.e. bathing bag with bathrobes, towels and hotel slippers is in the room.Underground car park €8/day too narrow too dark see other comments. The days of cigarette machines in the hallway should also be long gone.Breakfast averageDinner half board buffet very clear at 38, - overpriced for what was on offer. The hotel really decorated with decorationwould be according to the motto “less is more”to rethink or ambience(Personal opinion)

Hotel near the spa park of Bad Herrenalb, located on a hillside. The parking garage is integrated into the slope and is therefore very tight. There would sometimes be arguments about the good places. €8 per night.Common areas were modern and cozy. The rooms, on the other hand, needed renovation, especially the carpet and bathroom, where the fan was broken, the shower hose was kinked (who goes upstairs?) and the bathtub was very slippery. Balcony was dirty. There was enough space and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was rich and sufficient. The staff friendly and attentive. The restaurant manager is apparently Adele Fan, who played at excessive volume every day for breakfast.Price/performance was OK. We can recommend the hotel under these conditions.

We had a super nice brand new room. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent and the service was perfect. The house is clean and the outdoor areas are well-kept and invite you to relax for a moment, even at this time of year.

I was very overwhelmed and impressed with the hotel. It is a very nice and well-furnished hotel with its own charm. I would definitely prefer the family-run hotel to large hotel groups. I was there for two days and returned home relaxed. The hotel owners are very friendly and extremely cultured. The staff is very helpful. The parking spaces are a little tight, but I would come back at any time :-)
