+ clean room+ nice decor+ great cakes+ good breakfast with lots of choice+ beautiful surroundings for hiking+ friendly staff+ basically a lot of performance for the price+ probably great for social people and people who sleep soundly- In my opinion it's not for people who like it quiet, I had 4 hours of sleep on one of the two days because of the "background music" of the restaurant- you have to decide: do you want to be seen by your neighbors but have the room bright, or do you want full privacy- If a locker is broken or something else in the room, you still get it, then the security-conscious person just has to drag their valuables with them

Went here to eat in the beer garden. Beef boiled beef and onion roast were very good and the portion was more than enough.The waitresses were very nice and attentive, we were even given an umbrella to walk to the car.

We enjoyed the food excellently. We had onion roast, winemaker's steak and fish and chips as well as salad. The meat was on point. The portions were sufficient. The service was courteous and friendly. It was our first visit but definitely not the last.

Very nice people in the hotel. The rooms were super clean and very well maintained. Given the current outside temperatures (34 degrees), the air conditioning was a gift. The breakfast was also great, you were immediately greeted with nice words. A real effort has been made here to ensure the guest has a great stay.Kind regards from East Frisia.We wish you all the best and see you soon.

A very great restaurant, we are frequent guests here and soon "worked our way" through the entire menu. The dishes are all very lovingly prepared. The staff is always very nice and attentive. Always my pleasure.

Small but very clean room (even under the bed 😉) with a modern small bathroom. I think it's a shame that snacks (chocolate bars, chips) laid out in a small bowl in the room were quite expensive. At first glance you think - great, nice offer from the hotel. However, at second glance, somewhat hidden between other displays, you notice that the prices are quite high, so you are happy to forego eating it.Breakfast in the neighboring café is sufficient and functional, only the only lady present in the service seemed a little overwhelmed and could hardly keep up with checking and refilling the food.Overall, a pleasant stay - we would be happy to come back.

Very clean, modern rooms.There is WiFi, YouTube & Netflix on the TV in the room. Quiet in the house, even though the street is right next doorpasses by.Breakfast in the café next door was very tasty.Highly recommended!

We celebrated our civil wedding in the Engel restaurant with a smaller group (12 adults). The table decoration alone was really beautiful, with white chair covers, gold cutlery and fresh flowers. The waitress always had an eye on us and the food came at exactly the right speed.The food was really very tasty, all the guests were thrilled. The filet mignon in particular was a dream, super tender, fried to perfection and the Burgundy reduction was to die for.Thanks again to everyone for the great day!

A great hotel at the entrance to the Black Forest. We stayed in the hotel's apartment and were very positively surprised. The room was very clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable.What has to be particularly highlighted, however, is the food, both at dinner, which was really great (burger with homemade bun, thick patty and great sauce) and at breakfast - I've rarely had such a good breakfast, it can easily compete with any large hotel (and everything looked after by a super nice lady alone). The quality overall was really very high, we can only recommend the location to everyone.

We stayed at the Hotel Kreuz (part of the country inn) for 2 nights and were completely satisfied.Parking available, rooms spacious and clean, daily room service.Only 1 star deducted because the reception is only staffed to a limited extent and the minibar was not filled (we were happy about the offer of a cold cola after a long hike, but the fridge was unfortunately empty).Still 5 stars because it fits all around.There is a sufficient breakfast buffet with a good selection in a café next door. Plus point: the coffee from the warming container was great!The food in the associated restaurant Engel was also great! Price performance is 100% right here (see pictures)The location is great. Rural, but not too far from Gaggenau to be able to travel by public transport. And also an ideal starting point for hikes.We would come back at any time.

I booked one night at the Hotel Engel. The reception was very friendly. I received a free upgrade, thank you very much. The single room was very nice and clean. I was able to enjoy the evening in the associated beer garden with delicious beer and culinary delicacies. The breakfast buffet was in the cafe across the street. Here too, very friendly staff and delicious breakfast, which I was able to have outside as the weather cooperated. I'll definitely go there again when I'm nearby.
