Why travel long for your vacation, the Sauerland is so close. We found Milchenbach and Dümpelmanns Hof (the same name but not related). We were there in March and again in September. We really enjoyed it again. The coziness of village life is wonderful. The country house style holiday apartment fits exactly into this atmosphere. In addition, very nice hosts who are happy to give tips for tours by car nearby as well as hikes through the area around Milchenbach.If you are looking for peace and relaxation and love nature and can enjoy it, the Sauerland and Dümpelmanns Hof are the right place for you.

I had followed the previous reviews and therefore went there firmly convinced of the positive feedback. I can't recommend it at all... Keeping animals is a catastrophe and when you need something, you're hardly noticed or you're reluctant to help. The hosts also gloat when you don't know what to do... and you think you're encountering hospitality in a place like this and what is the fact? People with a migrant background are not welcome at all... calls are no longer accepted, at breakfast other residents with children are asked whether everything is OK or whether the children need more milk... and we were not asked at all even though we were sitting right at the next table... just sad. There is no pony guidance, there is no petting of rabbits either... I'm really speechless...The area is great but if you're looking for some hospitality you should rent a room somewhere else... I'm just saying that's rude.

Get out of the hectic city life and into the countryside. Wonderful, signposted hiking trails and the well-known Rothaarsteig almost right around the corner. It's really easy to switch off from stressful everyday working life while hiking in the mountains. We'd love to come back. Thank you for the nice, friendly accommodation. Warm wishes.

Beautiful area, great farm and very warm and friendly family.If you have any questions, you will be taken care of immediately. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is very tasty. My daughter was thrilled to get the ponies from the pasture and then go horseback riding.Beautiful paths for hiking or skiing.If you are looking for peace and relaxation, you have come to the right place.Thanks to the Dümpelmann family for the wonderful daysWe will come back in any case.

Due to Corona, the "home office ceiling" fell on my head, so I spontaneously looked for a farm where I had stable WiFi to work and, on the other hand, my daughter could go pony riding and have fun.We couldn't have chosen it better: The environment is ideal for everyone who just wants to unwind, the Dümpelmann family are all great hosts, the guest children are allowed to ride on "Mäxchen" before the ponies come into the stable. The breakfast included in the room price is very tasty, we were very satisfied.Great farm for families with children up to primary school age or anyone who appreciates and loves long walks/hikes or bike rides. And/or for home office refugees like me.Clear recommendation from me!

Rustic, yes, but not unmodernWe felt very comfortable during the week, the weather was extremely bad but that made us even more excited about the cozy apartment.Very quiet, ideal for staying in bed a little longer. The cows under the room are no longer there, but there is still a farm atmosphere.We will definitely come back again.

We stayed in the holiday apartment for a week. It was wonderful. The Dümpelmann family are very kind and warm hosts. We felt very welcome and will definitely go to the farm again. We can only recommend spending a few quiet days on the farm.

We spontaneously decided on Dümpelmanns Hof. Farm experience for the child, a bit of hiking for parents. It sounded promising. We arrived and I have to say the landscape is great, great hiking trails. Our family room was rustic, very clean and well maintained. That was a plus point but...according to the website there are great opportunities for children such as bread on sticks around the campfire, helping out in the stable, tractor tours, campfire romance. Our daughter had the opportunity to ride but that was it. I have to be honest, we felt uncomfortable asking about anything because the reaction was always cautious. As I said, the landscape is great, quiet place, room great for the price, breakfast too but in my opinion a destination for single people, couples or pensioners.

Quiet family guesthouse with warm, familiar care from the Dümpelmann family. The barbecue evening with “Sauerländer” was great!! If you are looking for peace and quiet, you are in good hands here in nature, even as a solo traveler!!

Milchenbach is a beautiful little village with many long and short hiking trails suitable for children. The holiday apartment on the Dümpelmannshof is good, but unfortunately it is located above the small cowshed in which the cows are chained and at night you can hear the chains. There is also a deduction for other animals (chickens and rabbits) for keeping animals. The pony Mäxchen has a good time in the stable and on the meadow and can be borrowed for walks. The next town of Saalhausen is a great destination, also for a hike, and there is a very good ice cream parlor/bakery, good restaurants and a beautiful park.

Great summer vacation for families and also childless couples. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and the apartment is really comfortable! Our son would like to go there again.
