The ambience inside looks wonderfully old-fashioned and invites you to linger by the tiled stove.At first the waitress was friendly and joking, but as the hour went on the tone became rougher, the visits to the table became fewer and the words unfriendly.On a menu you get a starter, main course and dessert for 17 euros. The starters for us (six people) were both the mushroom and tomato soup. She was okay.The main course was beautifully presented, but there was a noticeable lack of salt and pepper (it wasn't on the table, there were no service staff anywhere, more on that later). The meat was...not good quality and not particularly well prepared. The fries looked like they had been bought at McDonald's the day before and left behind. Soft, tasteless.And the dessert? It's probably been going on for hours. The waffle stick was deliciously soft, not crunchy and you could actually taste that it had been in the “sauce” for a long time. We couldn't choose this dish because it was "a surprise". Unfortunately, I can't tolerate applesauce and wasn't given an alternative, she "leave the glass of dessert here for now, maybe someone else at the table can eat it!" - this was not the case.Take leftovers with you? It does not work.Pay with card? It does not work. On the contrary... it is rudely pointed out that no ATMs work in the area.When we wanted to pay later, we spent half an hour searching in vain for service staff. And our neighboring table was also visibly annoyed. When a waitress finally came, she barked at the table next door, saying they were having dinner and we had to understand that, after all they wanted to eat something too!! And that in one tone... service is something else...The reviews praise the coffee and cappuccino like this... There's nothing wrong with pressing a button on a fully automatic machine...I or we will not go here anymore.

The food was ok: the mushroom soup had two mushrooms, the steaks were a bit dry and very well done. Overall it was nicely presented, but not good quality. There are two stars for the food.What was particularly problematic during the pandemic was that card payments were not possible. This is irresponsible and negligent.All in all: Better to drive down to Holzminden.
