Ideal starting point for hikes in the Feldberg area and around the Schluchsee. Delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. Overall very relaxed atmosphere. The street is a bit noisy because of the inconsiderate motorcyclists, but the very natural swimming lake right next to the hostel makes up for this if you find access despite the wolf fence and prefer to swim in the lake rather than in the pool.Overall, it was actually a discovery for me and I will definitely come back.

The rooms, the view, the shared kitchen and the hostess herself were great! I have felt very comfortable and in good hands over the last few days. There is nothing to complain about in terms of cleanliness, reliability and accessibility. I have gone on several day hikes from the house. It was super nice and very relaxing! ☺️

Beautiful hostel :) I've been there several times with family and friends and it's always been nice. The boss and all the employees are super friendly and the food is always delicious. I would definitely recommend! 😊

A beautiful place in the middle of the Black Forest. I was here with my racing bike during a bikepacking tour, but the Sporthostel is also a good starting point for hikes. If you like swimming, Schluchsee might be interesting. High-speed internet has also recently been available - for planning the next tour or for a productive working day for digital nomads. Definitely worth a trip!

The sports hostel is located at around 1100m above sea level above Schluchsee near the Feldberg. Numerous hiking trails start right in front of the door, which are also ideal for mountain biking and racing cycling. A great location in the middle of nature!

Mountain hut charm in a great location!The “hut landlady” is super helpful and knows a lot about the history of the area and cooks freshly from a small selection of delicious dishes. Breakfast was also plentiful, rolls fresh.The area is great for hiking!

We (two women & a dog) were on the Schluchtensteig. The Rössle is located behind the town of Aha and 3km from the trail. The innkeeper and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room is quiet, simply but nicely furnished. The accommodation, shower and toilet were all clean. The self-catering kitchen is practical and invites you to linger and play cards. If you want to spend a quiet night after a long day of hiking, you're in good hands here. Thanks!

Brilliantly beautifully prepared. Ideal for outdoor experiences in the heart of the Black Forest in summer and winter. We'll be back. It's rare that I give full marks in all respects. But gladly here

The kitchen/living room in the attic was designed as a connecting room, which was a little annoying.Kitchen was equipped with everything necessary. Here and there things were slightly broken, like the ceiling light in the bedroom, no light in the fridge. There was no socket in the kitchen, so you had to change the lamp/kettle/microwave.

Authentic Black Forest Hotel in a scenic location. Located right on the winding road, close to some of the best driving roads in the Black Forest, both for Motorcycles and Cars. The location is also amazing for cycling, mountain biking, and hiking. Schluhsee lake is reachable by foot. The owner is welcoming, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. She is a cyclist, and I got recommendations for both motorcycle tours and cycling roads from her. The room I stayed in was a double room with a shared bathroom - great value for money. Everything was clean and tidy. There are known issues with internet connectivity in this area, both regular and mobile. Here, the internet was very good, with full coverage inside the hotel and good coverage outside.There are various rooms available, starting with a double room with a shared bathroom to a bigger apartment with a terrace, with 2 separate rooms for 2 couples.

Nice celebration but...We had an overall nice celebration from Friday lunchtime to Sunday lunchtime with around 50 guests, most of whom stayed overnight on site. Positive: Great location (2 houses for celebrating and staying overnight with nice rooms, nice bar, nice outdoor area). The weather also cooperated. It was also great to be able to decide how much you would like to contribute to the food and drinks you brought with you.The food ordered from the hostel (various things for the grill, salads, etc.) was good, the breakfast was of a medium standard. The staff tried hard, but that doesn't mean that everything went smoothly. Sometimes it seemed that the experience of organizing large celebrations was still limited, which initially only slightly diminished the positive overall impression of the actual celebration. The ending was annoying. I strongly advise you to specify in advance, in writing, all the services to be provided by the hostel. This prevents services from being billed that were not agreed upon and about which I still had questions. In view of the considerable turnover this weekend, the final invoice for individual items seemed to me to be very detailed and sometimes incomprehensible, as it was absolutely unusual, which was confirmed to me by many people. Since a differentiated discussion about these points was not possible, a bad aftertaste remains. Too bad! Therefore only 3 stars.
