I was a guest at a wedding reception in the Schützenhaus Heldburg. From a gastronomic and hosting perspective, the on-site experience was a disaster.The hall is actually beautiful and you could really do something with it. However, as soon as you enter, there is a strong smell of grease and kitchen odors.The service staff (always too few in number) were wearing sweatpants. In my opinion, dark jeans and a decent t-shirt wouldn't have been too much to ask for the occasion.The company was there from 3 p.m. - the first round of drinks was after dinner. Until then, guests with long waiting times had to pick up their drinks themselves at the counter. The beer was warm. The reason for this was that the barrels or the amount of liters were simply calculated too tightly for such a high number of visitors, meaning that they had to be changed too often. The newly connected kegs were probably not kept cool beforehand, so the beer was then served warm.At a later hour, gin and tonic was served. Far too little gin for a large long drink glass, plus warm Gut&Günstig Tonic. The drink was then tried to cool down with an ice cube.The food was also a topic in itself... The buffet was set up over an hour late. Incomprehensibly, dessert first.The main course was already gone after half of the wedding party was at the buffet. In some cases there wasn't a single supplement left and it was added far too late, if at all. Here, as with the midnight buffet, the calculation was made incorrectly.I could describe many more details that are simply not suitable for such an occasion. There is an urgent need for improvement here!

There has recently been a small lunch menu here. The small beer garden is quite cozy under a linden tree, the food is freshly prepared and good. Only the drinks (beer and mineral water) were warm and stale. There is a need for improvement here.

12/26/22: Very nice location, has been renovated. Soup was lukewarm when it came to the table today. Only young people in service, with obviously little experience, but nice. Roulade and goose were good, main course was also hot. Wild boar roasts were different types of meat - indefinable. The salad buffet was almost non-existent. It's a shame if it was offered as such. Desserts good.

Very nice wedding location. Delicious food from starters to midnight snacks, everything was delicious. Preparation and dismantling for the wedding was impeccable. We celebrated late into the night and despite the windows being open, no neighbors or police came to disturb the peace. Small criticism in the room was unfortunately no hot water in the shower. If we had to decide again where we would celebrate our wedding then it would definitely be in Heldburg in the old Schützenhaus. Thank you for the beautiful wedding 🥰

A bit dated and the pillows are terrible. Like almost everywhere there is little choice for vegetarians but the baked potato is very tasty
