We went there for the third time in February '20 and were impressed every time...absolutely quiet location (please don't be confused by the proximity to the church!!), great breakfast and last but not least Ms. Schlumberger herself, always friendly and very nice. Absolute recommendation!!!Update: The fact that we were there again in June '23 (and definitely not the last time) actually speaks for itself... When we are in South Baden, this great place will always be our go-to address - unless it is fully booked :-)) )

Beautiful, small hotel furnished with attention to detail in a fantastic, quiet location. Great breakfast and the service leaves nothing to be desired. When the weather is sunny, the terrace invites you to linger. I'm already looking forward to the next visit ☺️

Very nice location, convenient because it is really a stone's throw from the central square of the town.Our room on the first floor was nice, cozy and clean. Comfortable bed with very practical single sheets.Very large bathroom equipped with everything you need.The winning point was the breakfast: very salty but everything of high quality, plentiful and the espresso coffee from the machine was really good.

I have already been to this feel-good place twice. This small hotel is located in beautiful Sulzburg, the rooms are extremely tastefully decorated and very clean, the boss is uncomplicatedly friendly, the breakfast is as I would like it: small and fine, with good coffee and without any waste. In summary: clear recommendation!

A small and fine hotel in a former old school. The area offers many opportunities for hiking and Freiburg is not far away. Of course, Staufen is also worth a visit with its beautiful old town center, nice shops and cafés and restaurants.

We booked the holiday apartment, which has only been offered since spring, for 4 nights and were 100% satisfied. The apartment was clean and tastefully furnished and has a double bed and 2 additional single beds under the roof. Dogs were also allowed, which is not a given. The apartment is very well equipped (including a Nespresso machine, TV, large refrigerator, glasses, plates, cups, etc. - the only thing we missed was a tea towel or dishwasher tablets) but you can also have a delicious breakfast in the nearby hotel for €10 per person. I can only recommend Sulzburg and the surrounding area, a great area with lots of excursion options but also wonderful hiking opportunities right from the front door.

Traveling in Corona timesFirst of all, when you come back from a relaxing short vacation, you would like to report about the accommodation, the hospitality, the atmosphere and the good food.But before our trip the question was: Traveling in Corona times? Can you protect yourself?Yes, in the dormitory:- The house, which has been renovated with great attention to detail, offers guests plenty of space to spread out and retreat in ten rooms. You can keep to yourself...- The distance in the breakfast room is appropriate with more than two meters between the tables. However, it is also possible to have breakfast at separate locations or at different times. You can keep to yourself...- Hygiene rules: Our hostess has prepared well. Mask requirements are very important, distance, fresh air and hand disinfection are a given.- In addition, the vineyards and the High Black Forest offer plenty of opportunity to hike or cycle without encountering many people. You can keep to yourself...The dormitory is different. Dormire means sleeping and we slept wonderfully, quietly, well laid out in box spring beds and undisturbed. Get up and have breakfast whenever you feel like it. That's relaxing.The breakfast can compete with any 5 star hotel. A coffee crema that deserves its name, juices if you want, fresh rolls, cold cuts or cheese, homemade jams, Bircher muesli, fruit, yoghurt, eggs in all variations.If you like, you can try the excellent wines of the Schlumberger-Bernhart private estate. So you can end the day quietly, on the terrace, with a Pinot Noir or Pinot Gris.The hostess is pleasantly reserved. However, if you ask about hiking routes or places to eat, you will receive personal recommendations with helpful tips. In general, Sulzburg is a wonderful starting point for culinary or hiking excursions.We felt completely comfortable and are looking forward to our next visit to the dormitory.
