We chose this campsite for a short weekend trip. We were more than positively surprised. When we arrived, it wasn't a problem at all that we arrived a little later than the "usual" check-in times due to traffic jams. We received a very friendly welcome. The place itself has immense charm and we quickly found a suitable parking space that we were free to choose. The “tented meadow” offers a lot of opportunities to stand, including near the edge of the forest. It is very quiet and idyllic. You almost have the feeling of camping in the forest :-) Otherwise, the place also impresses with its very modern sanitary facilities and has all the other infrastructure that is needed as a camper (dishwashing station, etc.). Another highlight was the restaurant attached to the square. Here we were able to get a portion of the popular "Schäufeles" despite not having pre-ordered it and were absolutely thrilled with both the taste and the friendly hospitality. For us it was a completely successful trip and we can recommend this place 100%, especially if, like us, you travel with a car and tent and don't necessarily want to find a place full of motorhomes etc :-)

I've been coming to the campsite for over 30 years. It's always nice to take a few days off there, go hiking, and admire the starry sky. And with a good economy. What more could you want?

Very nicely located place with super clean washrooms and its own inn. Disposal of gray water etc is a bit unclear. However, the approach has a fair incline.

Far too expensive for what is offered. Slate field with old, distant toilets. Too bad had some nice memories of this place.

We're not usually campground campers, but this place is really great. The sanitary facility is brand new. Reliable bread roll service and when the chickens lay, there are fresh eggs. The whole operating family is very friendly! The food was really really good and tasty. The Schäuferla sauce is world class. It doesn't get any better. THANKS!

June 15, 2024, 3 nights, motorhome 7 meters: Very nice hosts. We stood with the motorhome on a large, uneven meadow (tents, off-road vehicles, small and large motorhomes). Very nice view. We were able to easily compensate for the slope with wedges. The host is also happy to help out with boards or something similar. Electricity is possible along the path. Further into the meadow there is probably no more. Sanitary facilities are new and clean. For the men there are two showers, one toilet, two urinals and three sinks. You can wash your dishes around the corner and dispose of the toilet contents on the other side of the building. Garbage cans are also available. We had dinner at the inn that evening. It was very tasty and the price was great for us. However, we think the price for the place is a bit excessive, but we have just started our tour and haven't had much experience this year.
