Beautiful historic building from the 17th century, lavishly and lovingly renovated to a high standard, carefully modernized and very individually furnished with an eye for detail. Excellent breakfast with high-quality and mostly regional ingredients. The homemade jams were a highlight! Cozy and spacious room with a very comfortable bed and large, modern natural stone bathroom. Hot and cold drinks are available for self-service at any time in the library (with a roaring fireplace!). Very courteous service - our every wish was met. We rarely see each other in oneHotel felt so at home! And the quiet location in the middle of romantic Betzenstein and a varied hiking area alone deserves 5 stars. The price level of the hotel is quite high, although (the only point of criticism) the additional fees for a dog at €28 per night are really unreasonably high.

A very warm welcome, the best breakfast with homemade jams (with ginger, rosemary, beetroot...), fresh scrambled eggs, even a packed lunch is possible. Coffee in the afternoon and drinks of your choice in the evening with self-service are possible. There were tips for restaurants, thermal baths, hiking trails... The rooms are beautifully furnished with an extraordinary bed like in a fairy tale and the whole house/castle/hotel has been lovingly restored, equipped with unusual seating, plenty of books and even a wedding room.“Dare” and book!

There were, among other things, lots of homemade jams and spreads. The hotel is beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. You can feel that the owners invest a lot of heart, energy and passion every day to make their guests' stay pleasant.Thank you for that.

An enchanting place in a beautiful landscape! You live in very individual, excellently equipped rooms in a completely renovated castle from the 17th century.  …

A stately baroque building that can be dated to 1670 thanks to the alliance coat of arms on the fine front facade. It has been lovingly restored for a good ten years and the result is really impressive: a high-quality and tasteful interior that is reminiscent of British mansions simply because of the old library or the dominant tartan carpet. Noble and successful! The rooms/suites are also spacious, offer a lot of comfort and are wonderfully quiet - I slept like a baby. There is also nothing wrong with the breakfast, which can be taken on the terrace on summer days. Another highlight is the totally friendly team, which looks after every guest with unaffected charm and commitment. A recommendable hotel that also has a very good restaurant in the neighborhood, the 'Betzenstube'.

The castle hotel is run by really lovely people who take great care of the well-being of their guests. We were a group of 7 people and were welcomed very nicely, always had someone to contact and a really nice stay. The rooms are modern, bright and have beautiful views. There is a roof terrace on the castle tower, which is great for stargazing at night. The open bar provided us with fantastic food throughout the evening and the inn right next door offered equally good service with delicious home cooking (also vegetarian). The breakfast was simply great, especially because of the many delicacies homemade by the owners. Be sure to try the homemade jams. Fantastic!I can only recommend the castle hotel, it was so beautiful. It's a shame we were only there for one night. There is also a lot to see and experience in the area (climbing forest, kayaking, hiking, etc.). We are thrilled, especially because the local people are really great. Thank you for the lovely weekend!

A wonderful accommodation. Unfortunately we were only able to stay for two nights, but we loved it so much that we are already planning our next stay. A lovingly maintained house with cozy rooms, a good breakfast with lots of regional products and the friendly team. What more could you want? We'll definitely be back.
