Top food. Went to the Kandel in the Kandelhof again today. Starter pumpkin soup / main course meatballs with spaetzle. Cheesecake for dessert. Everything homemade. Great for this mountain restaurant. See you soon . Greetings also Eichstetten....

We have been on holiday in Kollnau every year for 12 years and always go up the mountain to drink a beer and eat some soup. I can't understand some of the negative reviews here. The location is great, the soups are freshly prepared and the beer is pleasantly cold. Even if you order the small soup you will be served a very large portion. Self-service is normal at alpine inns and is not a problem. The service was always friendly and sometimes had time for a little chat.

I'm really not the most demanding person... but you can expect your own toilet for âŹ85 per night. You also share a shower. The staff is well how can I put it, I was shouted at when I wanted to check in in the evening. The fact that I had previously asked by phone until what time you were allowed to check in simply didn't matter at this point. The room door cannot be locked. I have really never experienced anything like this and strongly advise anyone not to go to this establishment. You can already tell from the reviews that the owner has no idea about customer-friendly dealings, as he only gets pat answers. Everything that is in the 1 star reviews happened to me in the first 35 seconds when I tried to check in. Just the sentence âYou can leave again, but you won't get your money backâ or âYou're too stupid to find the entranceâ shows me that these owners have no ability whatsoever to run a restaurant.

I got a huge piece of Black Forest cake here and it was very good, as was the cappuccino. There are also delicious soups and much more.But don't be fooled, we stopped by first because we thought it was closed. Tip to the owner, put an open sign a little higher up.

Very idyllic accommodation. đ A little difficult to find from the street as there is no sign. Located across the street from the main parking lot. We had to do a little searching ourselves. đThe hostess was very friendly. But there were only a few guests in the accommodation. We booked half board and had a good and delicious dinner đ€€.It's definitely worth it if you love nature and want to switch off for a weekend. đThe price is fair. The furnishings are typical of a mountain inn, luxury is not offered. I can recommend the accommodation. đ

Concerns the RESTAURANT. I can't say anything about the hotel.After a long, strenuous hike, we reached the Kandel and were looking forward to a snack. The first impression was that the service from the owner wasn't exactly friendly. The soup from two friends didn't come. When we asked, we were told, âThey didnât pick you up!â but the beepers (which I think are a good system for hygiene reasons) definitely didnât beep. Maybe it was because the next guest was simply given the soup because he complained so loudly. Then it would probably have been the responsibility of the landlord to ensure that everything runs smoothly.Anyway, according to my friends, the soup was good.Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the coffee or my Black Forest cake. It looked extremely good, but unfortunately the taste was absolutely mediocre. The coffee was bland.As written: unfortunately the only restaurant up there. If you don't want to settle for a snack, you can't avoid it.

The first impression the staff made on us was northern German: a bit grumpy and taciturn: "Sausage salad? It's over.". Until we found out that the owner of the inn also came from northern Germany - everything was fine again :) We had a cozy, simple and clean room in an absolutely quiet location for our ZweiTĂ€lerSteig hike. The dinner was very good and plentiful and we were sent off with a top breakfast (including a packed lunch). Gladly again!

Nice, family-run guesthouse in a perfect location on the Kandel. The view is great. In the afternoon you can simply have a drink here, and there are spacious guest rooms for overnight stays. Everything is rustic and authentic, except for the somewhat cluttered art prints on every meter of the wall. No fire alarms in the rooms, a few in the hallway; no escape plans. Unfortunately, WiFi is only available very sporadically and didn't work at all for us. It's better to eat the Black Forest cake somewhere else, but the breakfast is very rich and second helpings (e.g. for the lunch box for hiking for an additional charge) are easily possible. The dinner included in half board will definitely fill you up; a vegetarian option is also available. The family is very hard-working and always friendly, which more than makes up for the somewhat chaotic organization. Breakfast begins slowly at 8 - before that the main exit, which leads through the restaurant, is completely closed. Credit card is not accepted despite terminal that supports it.Overall, recommended for hikers, especially because of the location on the Zwei-TĂ€ler-Steig.
