We have been to and in the great Kandel mountains a few times now. Whether at weddings, other parties, trade fairs or even as an overnight guest. Michel and Andrea are very kind hosts and read your every wish. We always enjoy coming back and look forward to the next evening up on the Kandel. Kind regards Laura & Flo

The Kandel mountains are absolutely fantastic! I always feel extremely comfortable here, both as a guest and as a service provider. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I have stayed there myself and am thrilled by the breathtaking ambience of the rooms and the unique view. I can particularly recommend the “Spießerabend” – an absolute highlight and culinary delight that I was able to experience with friends!

A fantastic place - and even our dog was warmly welcomed at the hotel! Beautiful alpine chalet-style hotel rooms with a breathtaking view. Warm, cozy atmosphere thanks to the Black Forest white fir wood. The lovingly prepared breakfast in the hotel leaves nothing to be desired and is perfect for a good start to the day on the mountain. And also the super nice, warm hosts - we always enjoy coming back!

Wow, I just love this location so much!The Kandel mountains are a fantastic wedding location with a breathtaking view.As a wedding photographer, I go there regularly and am always impressed. The quiet, remote location allows for undisturbed celebrations and offers fantastic photo spots.The service is excellent, the staff friendly and attentive.Particularly practical: you can stay overnight in the cozy rooms on site and enjoy the delicious breakfast the next morning.A location that simply offers everything - absolutely recommended!

Super beautiful event location and since February 2023 there have been new, very warm hosts in Michel & Andrea Schilling, who live their job with heart and soul. Everything is very flexible and with a lot of passion! As a wedding planner (wedding fairy Freiburg), I have already planned and accompanied many weddings there. All my couples so far have been very, very satisfied and I always enjoy coming back to the Kandel mountains. ☺️I can't say anything about the mountain restaurant next door because I've never eaten there.

The location offers breathtaking panoramic views, creating a perfect backdrop for unforgettable wedding photos. Whether in bright sunshine or mystical fog, the natural backdrop gives the photos a very special atmosphere. I often go hiking here.This time I camped in the car for 1 night. The public toilet is closed at night, so you should be self-sufficient when camping.Great view, beautiful, well-marked hiking trails

The Kandel mountains are one of my absolute favorite places in the Black Forest as a motorcyclist. The journey is simply great: the roads are not always in perfect condition, but that is exactly what makes them so attractive. The many curves offer pure driving fun.Once at the top, a beautiful self-service station awaits you with a fantastic view of the Rhine plain and across to Alsace. Here you can relax and watch paragliders and hang gliders take off, which is always a spectacle.The outdoor terrace is particularly pleasant because you can sit behind glass, protected from the wind. The waitresses are always very friendly and accommodating. The food is brought out and announced after the order is placed. On all my visits so far, the food has always been very tasty and the stay has been very pleasant.A small note: the toilet has to be paid for unless you are a customer. In this case you can pick up a chip at the checkout.I will definitely visit the Kandel mountains again in the next few years and can only warmly recommend it to every motorcyclist.

I used the Bergwelt Kandel motorhome parking space and was only at the hotel briefly to pay. Very atmospherically furnished, with lots of elegant wood and cowhide-covered furniture. I think staying here is great, just because of the location high up on the mountain and the paragliders taking off next to the building.Great location for events.

We were disappointed with the hotel, if you arrive at the hotel sweaty with your dog, you have to sit on the outside terrace despite the rain and wind, which is windy and there is no way to warm up, totally disappointing handling for hikers with dogs, definitely never againMarkus BurgerBreisach

A fantastic location, architecturally beautifully done, inside and out, and the service also works wonderfully. We had a private event with 50 people, from planning to execution it was uncomplicated and professional. Only the weather could have been better, but I don't want to deduct a star for that! :-) Anytime genre again!
