We fell in love with the place and its landscape on our first visit to Oberstdorf. When we were looking for accommodation, we made a lucky hit with the Hindelang family. We were welcomed straight away like family and we have been coming to the guesthouse for years now. The Hindelang family always found a way to make our vacation, which is not always easy to plan, possible through my work. So we were always looked after during our stay, so that we had a holiday as you would imagine a holiday to be. We will continue to remain loyal to the Hindelang family.

We were warmly welcomed by the Hindelang couple and immediately felt at home. The apartment is very nice and clean, very bright with a wonderful view of the mountains. Everything is there that is needed. And the central location with easy access to buses and cable cars is unique. You can easily discuss everything you need with Mr and Mrs Hindelang and they have great tips for your holiday. We recovered very well for two weeks and would love to come back. The apartment is recommended at any time.

For many years we have been booking the larger holiday apartment in the Hindelang guesthouse for our Oberstdorf stay. The hosts create a familiar and warm atmosphere so that the holiday can start straight away. The Hindelang family is always available to provide helpful and useful advice on planning the day and tours, so that we were always able to experience wonderful and varied holidays. The apartment is equipped with all the amenities for a successful stay and we particularly enjoy the quiet yet close location. We would love to come back and look forward to seeing you again soon!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hindelang guesthouse. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. Nothing was missing in the holiday apartment. The location was great, quiet and still short distances to the center, supermarket and public transport. Using the Allgäu-Walser Card was very advantageous for me. You could use all bus lines and the mountain railways free of charge. The days in Oberstdorf passed far too quickly. I'd love to come back.

First of all: A clear recommendation from me. I've been coming regularly since I was at school and have been coming regularly for around 47 years. Often twice a year. Earlier for skiing, later in summer or winter for relaxation, hiking or cycling. For me, nothing remained and remains to be desired. A nice, very tidy apartment and a friendly atmosphere in a family environment. Nice central, but still quiet location. Hardly any car traffic. In all these years there has always been or is always help of all kinds wherever needed. From advice on tours, pragmatic solutions for storing your valuable mountain bike, very kind support in the event of illness, and in general with “problems” of all kinds. Towards the end of my school days, there was even “medical care” for a severe sunburn while skiing in winter. The lowlander had not taken into account the intensity of the winter sun on the mountain. In short: I couldn't even list it all. So: what more could you want? Five stars isn't actually enough if you prefer these kinds of qualities. In this way, I would also like to say a big thank you.

We have been enjoying wonderful holidays at the Hindelang guesthouse for more than 30 years. From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed by a family and loving break from our everyday lives. Whether you have questions about hikes or questions about the nature of the path (safety from vertigo and feet), we have always received the best advice. Other activities and events in town were also always pointed out. The apartments are very suitable for allergy sufferers. There is also nothing wrong with bread roll service and other conveniences, such as the provision of drinks. So an all-round feel-good program. Thank you for existing.

Summary: The landlady enters the apartment in the absence of the guests, insults the guests and offers a kitchen without a refrigerator. The relationship with the landlady was not good from the start. When I didn't accept her offer to buy the drinks from her, she said with an outrageous cheek: "I can see that every cent counts for them." This happened immediately after we arrived on the first day, as a sort of greeting. At about the same time we were informed that our refrigerator wasn't working. This continued to be the case throughout the entire vacation.First we should store our food with the landlords, and there shouldn't be that many. I then suggested getting a cool box. This was not addressed. Instead, we were offered the option of storing the food on the floor in the basement. Instead of a refrigerator, there was later a used 60 cent cooler bag (in high summer temperatures). There were moth nests in it, so we bought a new bag and washed off the few small ice packs. Later we had to store our food in the refrigerator of a detached apartment. Only at the end did they put a borrowed electric cooler in the kitchen. The landlord packed our groceries there and put them in our apartment while we were away. Another unpleasant feeling when strangers with whom you don't get along simply have your own food. We then disposed of everything that was opened. The best thing Ms. Hindelang did, however, was trespass. We independently suspected that she was secretly entering our apartment while we were away. On the penultimate day I asked her if she had been to our apartment again. She admitted:“I swear I was only in her apartment on the first day so that the expensive curtains wouldn’t fade in the sun.”In the exchange that followed, she didn't let me have a word, spoke nonstop and made one excuse after another. Ms. Hindelang, who is usually very loud, spoke quite quietly at the beginning because the conversation began outside in public. Later inside, the tone changed and her husband and an acquaintance of Ms. Hindelang from the ground floor intervened. Ms. Hindelang repeated, “I swear I was only in her apartment on the first day because of the curtains in the bedroom.” I said that the kitchen was also part of the apartment and that if there was any further need to have the refrigerator repaired, this could have been discussed. Apparently Ms. Hindelang does not consider the kitchen to be part of the apartment. But there were a few other points why I wouldn't recommend this apartment to anyone. From day one, independently of each other, we had the feeling of being watched or overheard (handsfree to the landlady in the kitchen - strange). The hallway and stairwell smelled very musty, etc. etc.I have never felt so uncomfortable in an apartment.I'm just wondering how the good reviews (even if some of them are 4 years old) came about.

We have had a week's winter vacation here so far.We were very satisfied, the landlady was friendly and accommodating. In the morning you can order fresh rolls and water and other drinks. The apartments are well equipped and you have a fantastic view of the mountains. The skis can be brought into the basement and there is parking space for two cars in front of the house. If you need tips on where to ski best as a beginner, advanced skier, etc., you can get them. There were both beginners and advanced participants in our group.Payment is made in cash on the last day.

I would say that the price-performance ratio is reasonable. We were in apartment two, which is a little smaller. It's a little more difficult there if you want to use the kitchen, but otherwise it's enough to sleep, shower and go again 😁. (There are also more than enough delicious restaurants in the area 😉)There is a parking space "directly" in front of the door (private property)Ms. Hindelang is a very friendly woman who is also helpful! On request there would also be a roll service ;)There is an “Allgäu Weiser-Kart” (a kind of “Oberstdorf visitor card” with which you can use mountain railways and most buses, which is very practical because you can save a lot.
