Gigantic panorama at the end of the Trettachtal, after which there are only the Alps, very nice innkeepers, clean, well-kept accommodation, great breakfast, simply awesome

Fantastic location, the view of the mountains from the window in the morning is great. The clean rooms are a bit old, but the breakfast room is very nice and modern/rustic with a very tasty breakfast. The owners are very friendly. Thank you again for the uncomplicated, spontaneous booking.

The rooms are a bit old and some smelled very musty. The breakfast and the hospitality were very good. The biggest negative point was the extremely unfriendly owner. You drive for eight hours and at first you get insulted because we supposedly made the wrong booking and were too late (there was no agreed or specified arrival time). Everything was correct on our booking confirmation, but we still did it wrong and had to pay extra. Her husband must have miscalculated the price but it was still our fault. Makes sense.

The Gasthof Spielmannsau can be easily reached from Oberstdorf by hiking about 8km up the Trettach. It is beautifully located in the middle of mountains. On the terrace you can enjoy the view and strengthen yourself.You can get up quickly and easily by bike via the road.

Great, picturesque location, relaxed, decelerated atmosphere.Nice, courteous, calm service, good breakfastThe rooms are older, but clean and well maintained. However, as an allergy sufferer, I didn't have such good nights due to carpeting and duvets, which is why I deducted a star.Nevertheless, thank you for the great time!

The area is picturesque. Quiet, green meadows, with mountain views. The country house is okay. The room on the upper floor unfortunately needs renovation. Mattresses are saggy, very soft and with feather beds unfortunately not for allergy sufferers. Accordingly, the nights were not very relaxing. Cold water in the morning, you have to let it run for a long time until warm water comes. Breakfast was simple, but tasty and sufficient. Unfortunately, the many animals that were advertised on the website were also missing. So nothing with a petting zoo for the little ones and the fence with electricity for the goats directly on the play equipment is ill-advised given the children. All in all it was a nice vacation. Gladly again in Oberstdorf, but then another accommodation.

The farm is alone. If you like it quiet, this is the right place. Children have plenty of space. Relaxation in a magnificent mountain backdrop. Fits.

It was very clean and tidy there. Unfortunately the beds are a bit old, but you can sleep very well. The breakfast has something for everyone, including soft eggs. It's just very remote, but beautiful between the mountains. The hosting couple is very nice and helpful.

CAUTION !!!One of the unfriendly encounters I had in 2022:As part of an E5 hiking tour across the Alps, while preparing for the trip, I came across this beautifully situated Spielmannsau, from which the tour was supposed to start.Our hiking group was transported from LANDHAUS SPIELMANNSAU by shuttle bus from Oberstdorf to Spielmannsau, the starting point.Since I was thinking about spending a vacation in this beautiful place afterwards, I started a conversation with Ms. Geiger, the boss who was driving us.Unbelievable, not only was I completely ignored, she had absolutely no interest in having a conversation.As you can read in the reviews below (see JOHANNES), this shuttle bus drives its way absolutely recklessly on the narrow road up to Spielmannsau, without any consideration for other leisure enthusiasts (hikers + cyclists) along the way. I can confirm this because I was on the bus and was shocked by this frenzy.I quickly realized that this woman was deserted by all good spirits!And that's how it was. When she arrived at her destination, a hiker asked if she could please use the toilets and was only given a deliberately expansive answer from Ms. Geiger: "That costs 1 euro"!Anyone in the catering and hotel industry who can still afford to treat guests like this after two years of the pandemic deserves their bad rating. Such restaurateurs are spoiled and just fed up!

In the summer of 2022, we ended up in the Spielmannsau restaurant quite by chance on our hike and found this place so wonderful that we decided to go on vacation there. Said and done...we were there for a week in January 2023. Fantastic! Casual, close to nature and incredibly inspiring describe our week. Great breakfast (dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room), the house has been prepared with a lot of love and beautiful details, cozy rooms and warm-hearted hosts. We went to the mountain inn next door for dinner. Very delicious, cozy atmosphere and nice conversations with other holiday guests - we have never had it as nice and communicative as in the Spielmannsau. We were also able to bring our dog with us without any problem. We'd love to come back :)

Beautiful location, inviting presentation on booking portals and homepage. Among other things, it says 'pets allowed', which is how we explicitly chose the accommodation. The dog was also registered in advance. The reception was incredibly unfriendly and we were immediately told that no dogs were actually allowed. Dear operators, simply update your information online and reconsider your tone towards your guests. After all, you are happy to take our money. If you want to travel relaxed with your dog, this is probably not the place.The breakfast is really great, very nice new room, very friendly service.Unfortunately, the rooms are getting old, with carpeted floors and a bit musty. But here too, the location of course compensates for a lot. However, the beds with saggy mattresses are a real disaster. The house is also very noisy.We went home early to relax and have a good night's sleep. At full cost. See above. We would like to come back to Oberstdorf, as we have for many years, but certainly to different and friendlier accommodation.
