I was accommodated here from June 19th to 24th, 2024 during the Oberstdorf photo summit.For me the perfect location to quickly reach the event area at Oberstdorfhaus and the mountain railway.I was also lucky enough to get one of the few parking spaces at the house (€5/day).My single room was very large, the wooden floor was great, enough space for my photo material. Bathroom sufficiently large with shower and windows, small bay window with table and chair.The breakfast buffet is sufficient, large selection of coffees, delicious grain rolls. Absolutely fine for a guest house!Free WiFi in the room can be used.It's also perfect that the cable cars are included in the room price - you should pay attention to this when booking accommodation, as the train ticket is very expensive...Since it is a "normal" building there is no elevator, which was absolutely not an issue for me. But if you have a wheelchair or other mobility impairment you would of course have to look for a hotel or something similar.I was very satisfied and will come back next year!

Quaint old house in a perfect location, central but still quiet. Beautifully renovated, friendly, helpful reception, large room with a great view, nice bathroom, everything very clean! Breakfast: Coffee and roll selection excellent, drawbacks as always the same sausage and no lactose-free products, a lot of packaged goods. Unfortunately no sports channels on the TV, make-up mirror in the bathroom would be great.

The accommodation has an exceptionally good location right in the center. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but tasty and completely sufficient. Top price/performance!!

We are happy in Maxheim. Rooms are nice, breakfast is great (even better without Corona 😉). However, it's a shame that mountain railways are no longer included in summer. There may be equally good/cheap alternatives with mountain railways.

We wanted to travel to the Almabtrieb in autumn 2020. Luckily I asked again beforehand whether everything was working, then I received the terrible news “there is no reservation”.That really annoyed us.We would have traveled for 3 hours and there would have been no room available.Normally I never ask in advance whether everything will work. But here in the house I recommend doing this.In 2020 we had already reserved for 11 people for 2021 including the cable cars.When I asked at the beginning of June whether everything was working, “mountain railways are no longer included due to the corona”.They didn't even agree to a compromise (that half of the people would get the cable cars).And this was the reason for our booking because of the overnight price and the cable cars. Since it was a birthday present (family trip).The receipt of money was only confirmed upon request.One day before arrival, after asking again, they said "breakfast only in the room" and only after asking. No email came in which the changes were written.Luckily, the weather was good and the whole family was able to have breakfast together in the pavilion.Due to Corona, breakfast was served on tablets, which was good and sufficient. You could also request more.What really bothers me is that no change ever came on its own, only when I asked.I just wonder how things would have gone if you had just arrived without asking. How she would have sold you the negative things?The rooms were clean and brightly decorated.Great location.Parking spaces tight.Once you have a parking space, it is best not to give it up again during your stay.If we hadn't had the theater in those two years, the house would have been recommended, but for me it was always a negative event after every question. So I couldn't really look forward to a short vacation.Thought, what's next?We who booked the vacation. Won't be coming back to Guesthouse Maxheim.The rest of the family trip (fellow travelers) who didn't notice any of the drama described the hostess as nice and accommodating.
