We hiked from Spielmannsau to the Kemptner Hütte. The weather wasn't particularly great, but it was still a great tour. There and back in about 5 hours.

Beautiful hut, very attentive staff and great food at super fair prices for being pretty much out of the way. We felt very comfortable.The number of toilets is a bit manageable and unfortunately our door rattled with every draft, but that was bearable. It was clean and sociable, that's what counts.

The Kemptner Hütte has been renovated again and again, which you can see and notice. Unfortunately, little attention was paid to sustainability, you don't see a single solar panel or wind turbine, instead there are only signs on every door encouraging people to save money (which is of course also important). I find this very unfortunate and one-sided.It seemed to me that the hut was only used to process tour groups via the E5 and yet it was more of an alpine hotel than a refuge.From a culinary point of view, I'm surprised that they offer meatloaf like this in Bavaria... a fried egg on top would make a big difference and the price would then be more appropriate. But if you have around 200 overnight guests, of course something suffers...

The last time I was in the Kemptener Hütte was about 10 years ago. At that time we slept in the camp outside the hut. The night was bitterly cold then.Today the hut is ultra-modern and superbly furnished. Delicious food. Great service.

We stayed at this hut overnight on our E5 hike. We were personally welcomed by the hut owner and he explained everything to us in great detail. The staff was very friendly and on the ball. The food is great - the price-performance ratio is right here. Overall very good impression

Anyone who sees the first roofs of the Kemptner Hütte after the climb can look forward to good service, good food and very friendly staff. You won't find luxury here, but you will find nice people and a lot of hospitality

A beautiful place to come after a hard days walk. Rooms are well renovated, bathrooms are fine and the food is excellent. Particularly good range of vegetarian options and a fantastic terrace to sit and watch the mountains.

Hello :)Day 1 of crossing the Alps ended here. After a never-ending climb, the hut team welcomed us with a huge surprise. There were simply still beds! So not a camp, but a room of 6 in which there were four of us. The room left nothing to be desired!🥳 3 bunk beds, enough hooks for everyone, 6 “compartments” in which you could put your backpack.Rooms, washrooms, toilets - everything very clean :) 😊😊The shoe room was also big enough. 👍🏻The food was legendary and there was a surprisingly large selection of dishes. Roast beef from our own breeding, a lot of vegetarian, everything is great.👍🏻There was a bit of a queue for breakfast, but that's to be expected when all the hungry mountaineers want to fortify themselves for the day.🙈But after the hiking schools went straight from the queue to the table, the waiting time was no longer worth mentioning.Unfortunately I have to deduct points for the service:😥It takes forever for staff to come to the table and you can order. Unfortunately, an order does not automatically mean that it has been accepted. Some orders from our group came to nothing.In the evening there was a heavenly sunset and starry sky.😊🌟🌟☀️

The Kemptner Hütte offers a fantastic location, excellent food and friendly staff. Perfect for mountain hikers hiking the E5. Unfortunately there are no showers here and so there is only cat wash.

Recently landed at the Kemptner Hütte on a good tour, very pleasant. The service was impeccable and it should be clear to everyone that the prices have to be a bit high in such a location.If the Kemptner Hütte (= refuge) is too spartan for you, you should stay in a chic star hotel in Oberstdorf. Best with concierge service.There is a lot of information about no cell phone reception, charging, showers, etc. on the hut's homepage, which you should ideally take a look at BEFORE you start hiking.

We stayed at the Kemptner Hütte for one night and I was very impressed! A super nice atmosphere and great, quick and above all friendly staff! The food was very tasty (highly recommend the roast beef)..

A great hut, after the renovation it is much more comfortable. Food was good too. Breakfast could be improved a bit, there are other huts a little further, but that's complaining on a high level.
