During our bike tour there was only one free double room here. The room was fine except for the obvious stains on the armchairs. The bed was a disaster. Squeaked at the slightest movement and sleep was out of the question. My back hurt in the morning. The slatted frame and the mattress had probably already had several decades behind them. The breakfast was good but minimalistic. The next day we got a modern double room with a very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast for €10 more in a double room, 60km further. Consequently, the Golden Eagle is too expensive for its performance. We won't be coming back. By the way, a week later we got better rooms and a great breakfast on the Main at the same prices.

Had booked rooms should be ready from 4 p.m. Standing in front of a locked door. I called the landlord and he told me he couldn't be there before 7 p.m. - 5 stars. impertinence

Not entirely up to date. Rooms and guest rooms clean. Landlord tried very hard. Breakfast top. Ok for one night thanks to the great price-performance ratio.

Don't be put off by the external 70s style, the rooms are super clean and quiet.The operator was a very nice and warm person who always puts in a lot of effort.Breakfast was good.Price-performance was great! Highly recommended for one night!

Yes, it doesn't exactly look like a first-class hotel, but it offers really comfortable beds in some spacious rooms. The breakfast could be a little more extensive, but the coffee is nice and strong.Staircases are a bit steep and narrow, but otherwise everything is ok here.All double and multi-bed rooms have their own wet room with toilet, only the two single rooms share a bathroom.I think the price is unbeatable...The center is sufficiently close.A new front door would be a sensible investment.And the operator would be highly recommended to have his own, informative website.

The very nice operator has clearly understood the bad reviews and is now taking care of cleanliness and order. It really wouldn't take much for the retro charm of this house to come into its own again. Paint the door, make the hallways brighter, clean the doorbell, put flowers in the window, put in usable mattresses and replace a few pieces of furniture.

Pretty run down guesthouse. You can no longer call it an inn. Highly recommended as accommodation for fitters. Construction site next door.

It seems as if the innkeeper took the negative reviews to heart. The room was clean and the breakfast was rich. There were no objects lying around in the hallway, as described in other reviews. The furnishings of the rooms are spartan and a bit out of date, but that's completely okay given the cheap price.

The inn and the rooms are a bit older, but okay. WiFi is available. The breakfast was plentiful. The innkeeper is super nice. The price-performance ratio is completely fine for me. You can't pay the price of a guesthouse and expect a star hotel.

The man is very easy to talk toI had extra spelled rolls, which he bought for me. However, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The bathroom in the double room was not cleaned and there was no toilet paper in it. I also pointed that out. I preferred to have a single room with a bathroom in the hallway because I had to clean it after use anyway. But I ate in town. Location right on the street, but where else in such a narrow city. Center nearby.

We took a bike tour from beautiful Gunzenhausen to Eichstätt. Exhausted from cycling, we looked for nice but not so expensive accommodation in Eichstätt. Unfortunately everything was fully booked during this period. And unfortunately it was already 9:15 p.m. See you then...! We saw a sign on the edge of a bike path with the golden eagle printed on it 🦅. We called full of euphoria and the man on the phone said he still had a room available for €80. We were happy and set off. And from there the horror began. When we arrived in front of the completely run-down house, my friend said to me: “I don’t think we’re in the right place”. But I said “yes” with a strange feeling. We rang the bell and a friendly host opened the door. Then he showed us our room. Unfortunately that didn't work at all. Everything is completely outdated and run down. Hair on the bed and hair everywhere in the bathroom. The whole house smelled musty. The whole room downstairs was completely full of rubbish. As we have seen, the host does everything alone. He runs the guesthouse, the inn, cleans the rooms and I think he's even the cook. I just think the man is completely overwhelmed with all this stuff. I hope he manages it somehow. But in this state the inn is currently in, you cannot receive guests. I don't even want to say anything about breakfast. Please read through all the reviews and maybe change something. The price of €80 is also way too expensive.

The inn is grossly overpriced. Price-performance ratio absolutely inconsistent. Rooms desolately furnished and unclean. There is no sign of a bicycle garage, on the contrary it is a cluttered and completely dirty room. Piles of laundry in the hallway, no toilet paper and you don't have the words for breakfast.

More of a mangy eagle... shabby room with questionable cleanliness, rustic 80s charm throughout the house, overall untidy impression (crowded bicycle storage room, piles of dirty laundry in the hallway, negligent room maintenance). The landlord is certainly likeable, but obviously hopelessly overwhelmed. No toilet paper in the room, not even when asked, so I had to get a roll from the guest room toilet late in the evening a la Indiana Jones with a cell phone flashlight (since the hallway light downstairs was broken). Next morning comment: "Oh, did I forget the toilet paper?" There would be a lot of room for improvement, then this could definitely be a nice and familiar inn. At the moment, however, the shortcomings still predominate. I hope the landlord succeeds.
