We spent one night in this accommodation. Since we were traveling on bicycles and arrived in Sahleburg around midday, we asked on site whether we could store our luggage. We could have stored our things in an open, freely accessible winter garden, but this was too unsafe for us. So we carried the luggage around with us until check-in at 3 p.m. In the room we moved into later there is a closet in which the luggage could have been easily stored. The room didn't have to be ready for that to happen. It's a shame we couldn't use that. We came back for check-in at 3 p.m. This took a little longer due to several guests arriving at the same time. Then we were able to move into room 3 on the ground floor. The room made a good impression. The furniture (bed and sideboard) is a bit worn and has some flaws. The small table and chairs appear to be new and are very modern. There is a small refrigerator, kettle, tea bags and instant coffee. The room has a small "terrace" with seating. Unfortunately, the door to the terrace doesn't open all the way because the bed is in the way at this point (and also gets bumps from bumping into the door). Accordingly, the ventilation is unfortunately somewhat narrower. Unfortunately there are very few sockets in the room. There is no possibility to use a socket on one of the bedside tables. On the other bedside table there is a multiple socket that contains the refrigerator and the bedside table light. We were also able to borrow a multiple plug from the hostess. That was very helpful. The bathroom is also a bit old (tiles out of style, some cracks and strange stickers on the tiles), but everything was clean and tidy. What really bothered me, however, was the bed linen made of polyester (or at least with a high polyester content). The entrance doors to the rooms face an inner courtyard that is locked. This is of course very good for storing bicycles safely. The price-performance ratio is probably okay for the location.

I often travel to hotels, this Hotel in Surgrund is one of the best I have visited in recent years, very friendly owner, rooms very clean and well equipped, not too far from the beach, enough parking, very easy to reach , Price reasonable -> a real recommendation!

We spontaneously decided on the Gästehaus Zum Surgrund and were very satisfied! The owner was very nice and very helpful! The rooms are very clean, comfortable and modern! In the evening you can end the day with a glass of wine in the bar. We have a very nice time with you! Thank you

A very courteous and nice hostess greets the guest personally, even at a late hour. The rooms are of sufficient size and very clean. The room has both a refrigerator and a small tea/coffee bar.Access is via an inner courtyard, so that you are further isolated from any street noise. In the inner courtyard there are seats and beautiful plants. There is also a small bar in the house which is open on weekends.You should know that no food, including breakfast, is offered, but this will be communicated when booking. The hostess already mentions options where you can have a good and inexpensive breakfast nearby. Small snacks are available in the bar.Conclusion: Really nice hostess and clean rooms in a quiet location. 👍

Unfortunately there were over 100 mosquitoes living in our room, quick help was available on site, but you don't want to sleep in the small rooms with chemicals in the air.

I stayed here for 3 nights, the bathroom is big and clean, our room was tidy, the beds reasonable.There is a small balcony (at least downstairs) with a table and two chairs. Perfect for sitting outside on a warm summer evening. For a cold beer or a cola there is a bar in the evening - as far as I could see (we drank outside).The owners are incredibly friendly, accommodating and helpful.The beach is about 10-15 minutes away on foot, and a bike rental station that works with the inn (€5 per bike, per day) is almost next door.This means it's only 3-6 minutes to the beach. Highly recommended!

Room 3 was sufficiently furnished: wardrobe, chest of drawers, very comfortable double bed. There was even a small refrigerator, a kettle and cups with instant coffee and tea bags. Everything was remarkably clean, the bathroom had shampoo, towels and a hairdryer. The shower is wonderfully large, warm and has very good water pressure. The room was accessible on the ground floor, and there was also a small terrace and an inner courtyard for sitting. The reception was friendly and the lady explained everything well. Dogs are allowed!For our next short trip to Cuxhaven we will definitely put this accommodation back on the list of possible accommodations.
