I stayed at this hotel with a tour group, it was clean, cozy and the food was great. The furnishings were simple but clean and tidy. It has a large, comfortable outdoor terrace. Every room has a balcony or terrace, and also a small wellness area. However, you have to have a car, it's very convenientremote. Nevertheless, I can recommend the hotel.

Breakfast: it was amazing, everything was fresh and tasty.Location: If you are driving during your visit, you’ll be fine, but without a car, it’s challenging to explore or reach restaurants and nearby attractions. We loved the location as it was so quiet and beautiful.Room: The room size was okay, and the bed was comfortable and clean. However, the bathroom was dated, and room amenities like the kettle could be improved.Spa: Since we got to the spa in the last hour, we didn’t use much of it, as the sauna was about to be turned off. The swimming pool was okay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you’re planning to visit Ettal or the surrounding area.

Since it takes days to get someone on the phone, I probably should have interpreted that better:Seldom seen such a lifeless house. Spent 2 days here. In the entire time, not one person was present to explain where anything was. Check-in was anonymous, even though there was someone in the office, no one came out. The room card was on the counter, you can look for the room yourself.The room is furnished for its intended purpose, but that's it. The kettle has instant coffee Stivks and cane sugar sticks with paper cups. There is no spoon or chopstick to stir and there is no coffee cream either. No minibar, no guest information.At breakfast you sit alone without seeing any employees. The breakfast buffet is sufficiently varied with coffee specialties and appealing.At dinner the service was good and the food was ok. Book the meal in your room: “We won’t do that”.Check out: In the morning you have to wait 30 minutes for an employee when you have an appointment. The invoice then has to be drawn up. What you are presented with is the booking confirmation.All in all, you get the feeling that nobody here is really motivated or needs guests. Very unfortunate.Definitely won't come back.

We had an amazing time at Alphotel Ettal! Erina at the front desk was fantastic—despite having some late-night tasks, she still made time to refill our beers and recommended the white sausage for breakfast (a must-try!). The room was spotless, with stunning views from the balcony, and the hotel was super welcoming to our dog. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had plenty of options. Overall, a really enjoyable stay, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful, relaxing getaway!

Very nice staff. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for two days so we had to look for a restaurant. There were six of us and we would have been happy if we could have sat together somewhere. Too bad.

We stayed in this hotel for a week and were very impressed.The staff is always very nice and friendly.The room was clean and the breakfast was plentiful and fresh every day.The prices in the restaurant in the evening were affordable and delicious.The pool was also a refreshing refreshment after a long hikeWe can only recommend the hotel!!
