We were guests in the Schmökermühle for 4 nights. We were very kindly looked after in advance and informed about all the important details by email. We were immediately impressed by the location and the romantic building, which is very comfortably furnished with great attention to detail. We felt welcome and were allowed to look at the house. The owners are very warm, happy to tell you about the history of the house and have a big heart for their guests... and of course recommendations for things to do. The guesthouse is located in a very rural location by a stream and has a wonderful outdoor area that you can use without restriction.We had the book room, which was very clean and incredibly well designed. The beds were comfortable and the rushing stream was wonderfully relaxing.Since we were the only guests at breakfast, we were allowed to take leftovers with us for the day so that nothing had to be thrown away...we were happy and think this attitude was great. For my birthday there was even an upgrade to a birthday breakfast with cake, champagne to toast, rose petals... the day started perfectly 🤗You can park for free directly at the house.There are very beautiful hiking trails almost on the doorstep, which are easy to master even for people with less physical fitness and offer unique highlights. Whether cultural, a visit to Koblenz, hiking... everything can be reached in a very short time by car.For all boulderers who, like us, don't want to spend the night in the Bully: Glees is only 5 minutes away by car 😊 And if the weather doesn't cooperate, there's really a lot to discover here!Conclusion: The romantic building and its warm owners are unique pieces that we will certainly not have visited for the last time and that we can highly recommend to you!!!

A beautifully located accommodation surrounded by lots of greenery🌳🌲, very quiet with a stream that babbles calmly. We had the flower room, it was very clean and furnished with love. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to recommend it 100%.

The hosts are very friendly, the accommodation is super nice, clean and, due to the location and age, exceptional and a bit romantic.The location is perfectly located on hiking routes and places worth seeing.The hosts have lots of tips and recommendations, whether it's about hiking, eating or experiencing.They also send a practical PDF file with GoggleMaps links, which we found particularly commendable and practical.We would be happy to come back there at any time.

We were in the train room for almost a week and had very relaxing days. My little son was also able to quickly make friends with the 2 dogs and so we had a good, long conversation with the hosts in the garden. A historic house with individual design and thousands of books makes it a good starting point for activities. The owner is always open to small requests.

Top accommodation for couples and families. Empathetic owners, rooms clean and furnished with style. Super delicious breakfast - quiet location yet in the middle of the exciting lava area. The ambience suits the area. Hiking trails and the volcano express right outside the door, the Rhine: a stone's throw to Gysir or to romantic restaurants. Good value for money. Thank you for the lovely and child-friendly stay!

It's closed, when I hiked past Saturday last week the entire street parking lot was cordoned off. That's why I concluded that the boarding house has also stopped operating.

My husband and I spent the long weekend in the Schmökermühle and felt so comfortable from the first moment. The house is a dream, the location is perfect, quiet but still well connected and Bernadette and her husband are so open and warm that I felt welcome from the start.The Schmökermühle is one of the most beautiful accommodations we have had so far and definitely the one in which I felt most comfortable.I'm really looking forward to a second visit and good conversations with Bernadette am Bach.Kind regards from the bottom of my heart!

As a family, we treated ourselves to a few days of break in the Vulkaneifel.Ms. Engelhardt and Mr. Warler are wonderful hosts who look after their guests attentively, lovingly but unobtrusively. The whole house is very lovingly furnished, the garden and outdoor area are freely available as additional lounge areas. The accommodation offers everything you need for a relaxing stay - especially there are lots of books.Not to forget the rich and varied breakfast that we were treated to every morning.We were happy that we were allowed to be guests at the Schmökermühle and have decided to come back.Edit May 24, 2024:We kept our “promise” and stayed there again for a few days.And again we felt very comfortable with Bernadette and Klaus. Great hosts and a wonderful oasis of well-being in a beautiful environment.

If you are looking for nice and comfortable accommodation, this is the right place for you. We had the train room and I have to say it was very clean and, above all, comfortable. The bed was very pleasant and comfortable. I think the Schmökermühle is simply magical... it has that certain something and there is a lot of history behind it. We received such a great welcome, thank you very much. The highlight was the great breakfast. It has been decorated with so much love. There was everything your heart could desire. I would stay there again at any time :-)

A place to gain strength, lovingly furnished house in which you can discover a lot, historical books, toys, equipment, very warm hosts who fulfill every possible wish, cozy beds, rich breakfast, cozy tea kitchen and nature is an adventure playground for happiness be. Room was relatively small and not very special but it was tidy and clean. The sanitary facilities were also fine. Located right on the road, it was sometimes a bit noisy.The outdoor life was TOP with all kinds of cozy places to sit along the stream. There is also a large lounge area where you have enough light to read in the evening.Beautiful walks in the immediate area.In short, we would book again in a heartbeat. 🙂

I have no idea where 5.0 ratings come from, but that's just not it. The location is in the middle of the forest. The rooms are rustic, designed for reading and in one of them you have to cross the hallway to get to your own bathroom.There are dogs in the house, which I unfortunately see as unhygienic. I don't want to pet anyone and as a guest you want to be left alone after a hard day.Therefore a deduction for location and room.Leave the church in the village.Still, thank you for everything.

Located between a convenient road, the historic Brohltalbahn viaduct, the babbling Brohlbach and spectacular Trasshöhlen. Great starting point for cycling and hiking tours. Friendly, open-minded hosts and a cuddly house dog. Great library on the ground floor. Romantic seating and lounge areas between the house and the stream for eating/reading/relaxing. Happy to come back!

Insider tip! Incredibly beautiful location, nice hosts, lovingly furnished rooms and anything but standard rooms. We felt very comfortable, just the right thing for a break from cell phones, internet and the like! The barbecue hut by the stream is my personal favorite place, but the garden also invites you to linger. The highlight is a sweet golden retriever who was part of the welcoming committee. We'll be back soon. Thank you for the lovely time with you, we felt very comfortable.
