Five of us went to the crime fiction reading with Ralf Kamp at Bockshahn. The reading was terrific, Ralf Kamp always manages to captivate his readers/listeners at a high level and at the same time entertain them wonderfully.The service was very good, as was the quality of the food - but what was an absolute no-go was the quantity.The main course was served in buffet form, we only took a little so that everyone got something the first time through and were punished severely. Nothing was added, so we weren't the only ones left empty-handed. Meat (very tasty venison goulash) was still there - vegetables & co: none. When asked, they said there was nothing left, that would have to be enough. No, it definitely didn't and for €55 per person plus drinks we think everyone should have been fed.Conclusion: Crime reading with Mr. Kramp would be a pleasure again at any time, but please no longer in this setting.

The hotel and country inn “Zum Bockshahn” is incredibly homely furnished. The whole hotel seems clean including the room and shower/toilet. I particularly liked fly screens in front of a window. The breakfast room is simply wonderful. The selection at breakfast was more than sufficient for us and the coffee was very good. Half board includes starters, 3 main courses to choose from - always a meatless one - and dessert. We always found something and, above all, it tasted excellent. Mr. Nett gave us excellent advice when planning our excursions.

We were here with several motorcyclists and had booked an overnight stay with breakfast. This is a simple, owner-managed private hotel. We were able to park our motorcycles free of charge in the free spaces in the open garage. The rooms are functionally furnished, but also very clean. The hotel has a cozy terrace, you could provide yourself with cold drinks from a freely accessible refrigerator and enter the drinks on a list. We chose dinner in advance from a small menu. There were 3 menus and some separate main courses, as well as starters and desserts to choose from. All in all, the dishes were well received and everyone enjoyed it. In my opinion, the food deserves a full 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The hosts were very nice, but the friendly waitress deserved special praise 👍. Even though she was alone in the service, she was in a good mood and always had a quick saying on her lips - but without being unfriendly. The breakfast was quite rich and the price/performance ratio was absolutely right. I just find the room prices a bit too ambitious for the hotel standard offered and the furnishings of the rooms. Unfortunately, I deducted one star from the overall rating for this.

Pretty sleepy place, super unfriendly and inflexible employees and rooms fresh from the 90s, only with a tablet from 2005 where every Nintendo is faster. TV the size of a shoe box and you can shower in the toilet at the same time. Food very simple and of very acceptable quality.We would have expected more for the money!

Service, kitchen, breakfast buffet - everything perfect 😊 Additionally including outdoor sauna with garden. Large parking lot and garage for storing bicycles/e-bikes. Good starting point for hikes and/or e-bike tours. Highly recommended 👍

The hotel is in a very quiet location in the small town of Spessart and is a good starting point for our activities. 8Even though we were the only hotel guests at the time, we received a great breakfast and a varied 3-course menu in the evening as part of the half board. Each one super delicious!

From December 1st to December 3rd we were pampered here. We would have liked to have stayed longer. We had a wonderful room and delicious food for half board. The advice on excursions was very good.Unfortunately, there was very little time to relax in the beautiful sauna and the beautiful outdoor area.Great location for excursions. We'd love to come back.Thank you

The first beer Vulkan Bio tasted like dishwashing liquid, then I pointed it out to the landlord and got a new one, which tasted just like dishwashing liquid, but I drank it for decency and ordered a Bitburger and unfortunately it tasted exactly like dishwashing liquid. When I asked the landlord whether he had perhaps cleaned his bar, I was told "no, I haven't" and only "yes, my goodness, people, you have to drink this now, there is no new one". The food was ok. Unfortunately, only my colleague's meat was raw. What he complained about and got the answer was "yes, it's just aldente" to which my colleague said "not raw" to which the innkeeper said "yes, yes" and left. So I skip breakfast and regret to say that based on my experience I cannot recommend this hotel.

Overall, a very clean hotel with half board, which was booked cheaply through Groupon. The rooms are average, larger and relatively modern, but the bedside tables and TV are too small. The toilet was too narrow because a shower that was too large was installed. Cleanliness was okay. Unfortunately there was no room cleaning in 4 nights, although it is offered from the 3rd night. The service was friendly, but short (e.g. no question as to whether everything was/was to our satisfaction). Tables are reserved in advance, but they are quite crowded. Breakfast good, dinner probably partly frozen food. Overall, we can recommend it, but not for a longer stay.
