Kindly received.Overwhelmed by the lovingly furnished room.Dogs are welcome and the area invites you to take great nature-based walks.This morning I even got a coffee before the usual breakfast time opened.Very nice staff and a big thank you for the great stay here.Will highly recommend the hotel.

We were there for one night. The reception was very modest. We only briefly put our luggage in the room because we had an appointment in Freiburg. The room was small and not nice at first glance...but that's a matter of taste.When we got to the hotel room in the evening, I was hugely shocked. We were greeted by spiders and disgusting insects as soon as we entered. The wooden beams on the ceiling were so disgusting...it was terrible what was sticking out of them. Large dead insects also in the ceiling lights. The sockets were so dirty with animal feces...unbelievable. Silverfish were running on the bottom. Cobwebs everywhere. When the plastic chairs were moved, the cobwebs were taken with them, a clear sign that this place hasn't been cleaned for who knows how long. Dirt in all corners including the bed. For me it was a night in the jungle camp...including crawling with the animals.I made my complaint when checking out as I prefer to complain in person and wait for a response. I was supposed to be called back, but nothing came. To date, nothing has come from my emails including photos. I'm more upset than ever before. We travel a lot...but this was really bad. I'm still thinking about taking further measures to get my money back.I can't explain where the good reviews come from, maybe it must be the breakfast, which we didn't book.

Charming and quiet hotel, well located for visiting the region, if you have a private vehicle.One downside regarding our room. If the character and decoration are faithful to those presented on the website, there was however a big problem with odor backing up in the bathroom. When we arrived, the extremely bad smell was present in the bathroom and throughout the room, which explained the wide open window despite the rain and the low temperature.We informed reception of the situation, indicating that the source of the problem was most likely the shower drain pipe and not a simple cleaning issue....We had to wait until the next day for the problem to be dealt with, it was more or less resolved by the end of the day….In the meantime, the reception did not offer us to change rooms…. we had to put up with the smell...At check-out time, however, the reception gave us a slim discount of 31 euros (minus indeed compared to the price of the night which was 170 euros with breakfast...).Our stay was only 2 nights, it was a shame not to have been able to enjoy the hotel as we had imagined...

Very pretty location in the very beautiful Kirchzarten. Unfortunately, parking options are somewhat limited. When you come from the motorway you have to go completely through the annoying bottleneck of Freiburg.

Overall, it is an exceptional hotel!If you get a room at the back, the street noise is less present. Each room is designed differently. The garden terrace is beautifully situated in the countryside. The food is very good and the selection is varied. You get water for the dog without being asked and other wishes are also implemented.The service and a member of the cleaning team are almost perfect.Unfortunately there is no air conditioning and we had very hot days! Even with three fans, sleep was almost impossible.A change of room brought some relief!Here I would have liked a little more accommodation from the hotel for two missed nights (vacation after all)!The breakfast is average for a good hotel.Overall, apart from two nights, it was a nice stay and ultimately the employees contributed the most.

Very nice rooms and central location. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed at 2230 on Saturday. It should be possible for hotel guests to have a drink at the bar, at least on weekends. You could also offer it without staff. e.g. setting up a well-stocked refrigerator.
