We were guests at the “Alte Schmiede” guesthouse in Rabenstein for a weekend. Everything was fine, the room was nice and big, the shower was great, the staff were friendly. Dogs were also welcome for a small additional charge. We will definitely keep the guesthouse on our list and would recommend it and book it again ourselves for our next tours into the Bavarian Forest. Why only 4 overall stars? The internet access was not entirely stable and there were constant network interruptions, breakfast service at 11.00 euros was rather at the upper end of the price, clearly too expensive for what was offered. But everything is okay, we always respond in a friendly manner when asked. All in all, gladly again!!!!

Very friendly guests who take care of the guests personally. The rooms are clean and the food is cooked by the boss herself and is very tasty. The breakfast is also very varied and sufficient.The area has a lot to offer and it's impossible to take full advantage of what it has to offer in just one week. That means we will come back.

Nice rooms, extensive and good breakfast. The evening meals are very well prepared and taste excellent. There are also additional dishes, such as a very tasty fresh trout on Friday. Friendly and pleasant service. This is how you can enjoy your vacation. Addendum: This year again at the Alte Schmiede, and it was excellent again. The Wastl family runs the guesthouse very lovingly. I can 100% recommend this very nice guesthouse. Addendum August 12, 2024 We had a great week last week with 5 people. Food, drinks, service, cleanliness, friendliness, everything was great. Beautiful area for great hikes. In the evening a cool light drink and a very good meal. What more do I want? This was my third time here and the level was always the same good and high. I would love to come back and can 100% recommend a stay with the Wastl family.

Staying here is a “must do” for us. Lenka and Martin are great hosts. We have been regular guests for many years and appreciate the family atmosphere, any special requests are happy to be fulfilled, the rooms are fine and the warmth of the innkeepers contributes significantly to our well-being. Martin's cooking skills never cease to amaze us. The location is nice and quiet and you can get around even without a car.

We were there for 3 nights and we will definitely come back. The hosts are really nice people, the table is set with everything for breakfast and dinner is also highly recommended. The room was clean and very comfortable. We felt very comfortable.

Located somewhat away from the village center. The 30sqm room is very well equipped, with a nice little kitchenette, couch and dining table. Everything looks high quality, new, well maintained and very clean. The breakfast is a bit very simple.

This is not the first time we have chosen this guesthouse, as we are simply thrilled by the friendliness of the innkeepers, the rich breakfast, and the delicious, freshly cooked dinner. The rooms are very clean and comfortably furnished and literally invite you to linger.💯

We asked at short notice if it was possible to have dinner. Although not a house guest, they agreed immediately. Even better - we were able to come eat on New Year's Eve. Very good cuisine at reasonable prices. Nice hosts who exchanged a few words outside of the usual service. We felt very comfortable. Highly recommended!!! We cannot rate rooms.

A beautiful, quiet guesthouse, just right for us. The innkeepers are incredibly nice and always have an open ear for requests and also give great tips for excursion destinations. The food is excellent and the rooms with balconies are very nice. We have been coming to the Wastl family for years and have already booked again for next year. It was once again a really nice vacation. Thank you Lenka and Martin.
