The stay in the camp was overall positive. The room was clean. In the rooms there were own showers in the restrooms. The food was ok, but they could improve the distribution of the food. The camp also included a hike up the mountain ”Lusen“. The guide of the hike, was very friendly and thought our class about the story and mystery of the Lusen. On top of the mountain we didn’t have the best view but we were able to take some really cool pictures. Another point what they could approve is their wifi.

The place may be nice but the food and water is bad, some people have been starving until they leave and stay home and until they are fed, highly recommend to make the food better. Thank you.

Simply put, the best youth hostel I ever had the pleasure to live in! Everything is well maintained and clean - the dwelling rooms, the beds, the sheets, the facilities, the dining room, washing&drying machines. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The location is strategic - several hiking trails are just nearby, there is a bus stop outside, a generous parking lot and, importantly, a cozy local restaurant that serves weissbier and other essentials.

We was a big group of families. We stayed in this hostel during one week: all was good. Staff is nice and friendly, many spaces for group activities, and spaces for families activities. ||Rooms are different (for 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 6 and 8 persons) with/without WC. All rooms are clean.||Nature around the hostel is fabulous.

We spent a few great days there. The employees are super friendly, open & funny. We also received so much advice when it came to things to do. We could go anywhere with the hedgehog bus and didn't even need our car. We were able to do almost everything for free. There are great museums (also interesting for children), playgrounds and of course the national park nearby. We had no idea how to start and it was perfectly explained to us how to best organize our days so that we could fit everything in well. We even reached our first summit cross on the Lusen. Even when it rains, the JHB has great rooms to keep the whole family busy. :)

We visited the Waldhäuser youth hostel in Neuschönau with two fourth graders and were very satisfied. The location is unique. It is in a very quiet location and offers an impressive view over the Bavarian Forest.A playground, table tennis tables and a football field offer the children plenty of opportunities to let off steam. The rooms are bright and spacious. It's also great that each room has its own toilet and shower. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired and is regularly replenished. The children and we also really enjoyed dinner. We were always helped when we had any questions and everyone was very friendly to us.We can highly recommend the youth hostel for a school camp stay.

The staff was mostly very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. Unfortunately, some dishes were no longer available a quarter to half an hour after breakfast began, for example the lye pastries, which were great (but I only rarely enjoyed them during the week). At breakfast, exercise is the order of the day. For example, if you want a juice spritzer, you can find the juice at one end and the water at the other end of the room. This is the case with several things, e.g. coffee and milk. This may be a small thing, but it can be seen in many places that with a little effort and consideration, things could be made nicer for the guests. For example, there is a lack of attention to detail in the lounges and rooms. In the bathrooms, for example, it would be a small thing to add more hooks so that the second person also had a chance to hang up the towel. Everything isn't really cozy or nicely designed. It just doesn't seem hospitable. But the most important point is that the price-performance ratio is not at all consistent. In this area a guesthouse costs the same per night or even less. So for the same price or even more, in the youth hostel you have to make your own beds, wipe tables, put up chairs, and at the end of your stay, sweep the floors and take out the garbage. It also means lying in cramped bunk beds and spending as little time as possible in rooms that lack any flair. The reason for the high price is, among other things, organic products at breakfast. I don't want to doubt that individual products may have been organic, but that alone cannot justify the high price.

This is the second time we've been here with a school class and we're super happy again. The kids like it, there are plenty of excursion options and the team is super friendly and flexible. For us, the location is a huge bonus because we can just let the children jump and not have to worry.WiFi is available in the foyer, but unfortunately the reception in my (teacher) room is not that good. But that doesn't detract from the overall experience. We'll definitely come back.

Our school trip took us to the Bavarian Forest for 5 days and we lived in Waldhäuser Juhe. We received a very friendly welcome, there was always an open ear for our needs or questions and I, Sylke Ratter, can warmly recommend this accommodation! Competent, beautiful and diverse - thank you very much!
