Extremely cozy, quietly located guesthouse with beautiful rooms, very nice hosts, everything clean, great breakfast... I can recommend Pension Born with a clear conscience! Price-performance ratio is also right!The Barthel family always had time for a few nice words, we felt very comfortable during the 4 days! What I've never experienced before: a bag for "food for the journey" was put in the bread basket, we were able to pack up the rest of the breakfast and take it with us, great!Thank you and all the best to you!

Family-run guesthouse where a nice conversation is not neglected. Breakfast was very lovingly prepared. I was always allowed to prepare a packed lunch for my hike. The location and the good public transport connections must also be mentioned.

Great accommodation. Very family atmosphere. The breakfast is perfect and peppered with some homemade goodies. The innkeepers are open, warm and helpful. I would love to stay there again at any time.

Dear Ms. Röslrr.I read your review with amazement. Since we were holiday guests at Pens. Born at the same time as you, I would like to comment on this.First: Unfriendly reception, not in my case.Second: Unheated room. It was the end of October, the sun was mostly shining, the outside temperatures reached up to 20 °C during the day. Her room has a south side and a large window. Our room, on the west side, without heating, reached a room temperature of 23°C. A small note about heating systems: if the outside temperature is not low enough, they do not produce any significant flow temperature (it is subjectively cold). The bathroom radiator was sufficiently warm early in the morning and in the evening.Third: In your room there is one socket next to the room entrance door, two next to the TV, two by the beds and one in the bathroom, and there are also four lamps in the room (two operated by switches and two by touch)Fourth: There is a board in the bathroom that is large enough.Fifth: The empty Nutella jar is simply exchanged, there is enough availableSixth: A friendly question (is everything okay, do you have another wish) is an expression of attention. I had a few wishes that went beyond the usual and they were all fulfilled.If they do something like that. Seeing them as hypocritical is probably their view.So now to them, they were always in the breakfast room before us and we had the neighboring table. A polite good morning was never returned, for whatever reason. Overall, they didn't seem very happy to us. If you didn't like it at all at Pens.Born, I can only tell you that you have a free decision to leave or stay.In any case, we felt very comfortable there, friendly family-run pens. I don't know what there is to complain about. Spacious rooms with rustic charm always clean. Sufficiently varied breakfast, plus a bag in which you could take provisions for the day, everything from the same breakfast, fruit, juice, cocoa, tea or whatever for the child, not forgetting the honey from our own beekeeping. If necessary, there is a small kitchen on each floor with a refrigerator.The pens. is conveniently located, Brocken, show mine, caves, dam, Wernigerode, Hexentanzplatz etc. nearby, long time is a foreign word, even in rainy weather.Since I traveled a lot for work, including overnight stays, I appreciate the Pens. Born, thumbs up. I will definitely stay with the Barthel family again.

Unfriendly reception from staff who, in my opinion, were overwhelmed by their age.An unheated room at the end of October. You couldn't even turn on the heater in the bathroom to shower.When I asked about this, they couldn't help me.A single free socket in the room. Two of 4 lamps defective. The door frame in the bathroom was also missing. No facility for cosmetic products.I didn't even mention any complaints about this because the first request made you look like an unwelcome guest.An empty Nutella jar on the table, which I wanted to have exchanged, triggered another unfriendly look.Instead, every now and then there was a hypocritical “is everything okay”, which you should then refrain from saying.If you want a nice and relaxing holiday, don't book here!!!!!

Was there for a few days vacation! My first impression was where am I…. The guesthouse was youth hostel style... as an adult you were offered a bed that was intended for a 10 year old. Despite everything, I was excited to see what was offered to me for breakfast the next day... eating what was served there was terrible and the quantities were technically a joke to the power of 10! After asking for more of the various sausage products, Man was approached stupidly from the side.Competence and understanding given zero... once and never again thank you

Very good! Despite all the Corona measures, which are all 100% fulfilled, you have the impression that you can forget the pandemic there. The family is very keen to make you feel welcome there and this is reflected not only in the cozy rooms but also in the delicious breakfast that surprises you every day. Thank you for the nice hospitality and great tips for the day trips. Gladly again
