We went back there after 10 years, it was absolutely great again! We had the trout, the schnitzel baked with spiced meat and the witch's pot!Everything was delicious, the price was great, and at the end there was a homemade cake buffet! Ambiance was great, different than another local restaurant! Highly recommended!Please note that the kitchen closes at 6:30 p.m

Today we had dinner and had the witch's pan, the farmer's breakfast and the fish fingers with fries.The food was very tasty and the meat in the witch's pan was sooooo tender 🤤Even our son, who isn't usually a good eater, finished it and said it was delicious.All you can say about the location is that it is a beautifully quiet and enchanting location. The view is fantastic.The staff, who are also the owners, are incredibly friendly.It is simply a must to eat here.

Top accommodation. Went here by chance and got a room without any problems. Which was also very nice and with a great view. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.We'd love to come back.

Very quiet location, in nature, in the forest. Suitable for beautiful hikes. Shopping is possible in Thale and Blankenburg.The accommodation and half board were good. Breakfast buffet wasvaried and versatile. Dinner (half board) two meals of choice were possible. Wishes regarding the food were fulfilled. We were well received and served by Mrs. and Mr. Koppelmann. We spent a very nice week here with lots of hikes and excursions. The guesthouse is quiet, located at the end of a little-used access road and has a fantastic view of Altenbrak. The friendly innkeepers are nice and always ready to provide information and chat. The rooms are functionally furnished, not super modern but completely fine for us. The breakfast was always good and sufficient, the coffee tasted great. The Brocken cake is very tasty in the afternoon and we also ate well in the evening. You can go on beautiful hikes straight away and the many sights in the area are easy to reach by car.

... we found it a bit horrible. My vegetable stir-fry was served in a pan from the freezer. The vegetables were not fully cooked and half raw. The birds, especially the parrot, were exposed to the cold and felt very sorry for us. I definitely do not recommend this cafe!!!

There is one point for service and the view, but no point for the food! All dishes come directly from cans or freezers! You don't even bother to "refine" the canned pea soup, the ready-made vegetable pan (which you can buy as a French-style vegetable pan in any supermarket) or the frozen frozen schnitzel.

Even the telephone reservation wasn't really inviting. I wanted to ask another question when I said "I don't have time now" and they simply hung up. Okay, I'll leave it like that. We still went there at the reserved time. In the entrance area there was an unpleasant smell of toilet like from a rest area - I'll spare you the details for now. The dining area has a rustic feel, charm from 40 years ago. Time has stopped here. Stuffed animals decorate the walls.The food wasn't anything special, but it was pretty expensive at €17 for schnitzel with spiced meat and croquettes. Even though we were the only guests in the restaurant, the waiter didn't think it was necessary to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything else.Oh yes: rest days Monday and Tuesday and warm food only until 7 p.m.
