We stayed at the Schlosshotel Blankenburg for a long weekend 3 weeks ago.We give 5 stars for the nice atmosphere, friendly welcome, good food and great massages. We are going back in December and are looking forward to the break.Maybe we are more frugal, like some reviewers here at Google, but we are certainly not undemanding.Really great there if you know what to do with your time. Thanks to the entire teamD. The staff was always friendly. The elevator is quite narrow, so it will be difficult with more than three people. The room is fine, the view is great as is the bed.The shower/bathtub is very narrow and you have to climb a bit to get into the shower. The cosmetic mirror is placed very strangely because the sink is in front of it and you can't use the mirror properly. In the hallway there is only a motion detector for the light in some places (e.g. by the elevator). When you leave the room you have to turn on the light yourself. The breakfast was relatively small and basic. We had to wait about ten minutes at the empty reception without knowing where the staff was.It would be smart to put up a sign saying they'll be back soon.In addition, it is best for the staff to lock the PC at reception, otherwise anyone could simply answer it.

Our room was a nice size, the bathroom was also very nice, with a bathtub. However, one wall in the room was pretty bare - a larger rack for suitcases or a small sofa would make a lot of difference. But everywhere in the hotel there is a lack of attention to detail - there is no cozy atmosphere even if it is clean and tidy. For example, you search in vain for trash cans in the hotel or elsewhere. Parking. Of course there are some in the room. The staff was super nice and attentive - there was always water for the dog and twice treats in the room for him. The food for dinner was expensive and 50/50 the taste - mine was good, but my partner's was not. Coffee is not drinkable to our taste. You look in vain for additional napkins. Breakfast ok. Seasoning for the tomato-mozzarella slices would have been good. The consistency of the scrambled eggs was good, but they had to be seasoned, which wasn't ideal with a pepper shaker (not a mill). The wellness area, consisting of 2 saunas, showers and a relaxation area, was, like the hotel itself, clean and tidy. But with 10 men it will definitely be tight. I wouldn't do cosmetic treatment there again - I can only explain the painful plucking of the eyebrows (and the small injuries afterwards) as plucking in the direction against hair growth. Rest was ok. There are a few individual touches missing to make the hotel pleasant, but now it only serves its purpose. PS 2 out of 3 receptionists were nice too.

October 12, 2024 Saturday, parking situation perfect. The first impression of the hotel was perfect. We didn't get a place for dinner in the restaurant. We had a really delicious meal at Burger König. When we came back the hotel bar wasn't open.....mh.The idea of the sauna in the hotel is great. Everything is clean, there is a lack of comfortable seating, there are 4 loungers. Our deluxe room 316 lacked the charm of luxury. Conclusion, great place, great location.... But there is still something going on, even with 4 stars.

It's a beautiful hotel right next to the Blankenburg Castle. It's in 15 minutes walking distance from the train station. The room was very clean with a really nice view. My only complaint would be the wifi speed.

We spent a long weekend at the Schlosshotel Blankenburg on October 3rd - the hotel was completely booked. The initially bad weather was more than compensated for by the warm welcome at the reception and later in the restaurant with homemade cake. We felt very comfortable right from the start, you get a bit of a stately but cozy feeling. The peace and quiet was unique; we haven't slept so well in a long time. The breakfast was my highlight, lots of organic products and really tasty sausage from the region (HalberstÀdter), homemade bread, finally sitting back and enjoying with a view of the countryside. We had dinner once, and since my wife is vegan, she was more than happy to find not just one dish, but several, including on the breakfast buffet. The food was excellent, value for money was right, keeping in mind that everything was local and/or organic and of very high quality and sumptuous.Oh yes, we also booked massages, a dream, thanks to the two ladies, it was a treat for body and mind. Everything was very clean and well maintained, the shower soap smelled wonderful, so we bought it at reception. The castle at the top of the hill is a must see, incredibly beautiful and the castle garden opposite the hotel is an oasis. All in all almost 5* - small drawback, the city is really cute, but after 7pm the sidewalks are folded up. We then had a nightcap in the hotel. We'll be back - certainly very romantic in winter.
