I have been booking this hotel for many years and am always very satisfied. Travel with family or alone. The location is ideal for taking tours to the western or eastern Harz. When I arrived with my motorcycle, I was immediately offered a parking space under the carport. When I come back to the hotel from my tours, I enjoy the wellness area, which is located further up in the forest. Simply brilliant, not many houses in the Harz offer that. I don't use the WiFi, I have data volume (D1) and a reasonable reception in the room or upstairs in the wellness area. It's enough for WhatsApp and a bit of surfing. The winter garden is also very nice where you can have a hearty breakfast. I'll definitely be back.

After a long hike we stopped by there for dinner. The service was good and the food didn't take long to arrive either. It tasted perfect, the deer burger with pear is highly recommended and I've never seen it on a menu before. We'd love to come back.

After a long time we spent a night in the green fir tree. The quality of the overnight stay, service from the staff, dinner and breakfast were, as always, very good.I didn't use the wellness area this time. Also recommended as an excursion restaurant for eating or drinking coffee.

It's a nice hotel and the service is very friendly and Ms. Eckbert does her massage very wellThe only drawback would be it would be nice if there were fly screens in front of the windows in the middle of the forest

Only had coffee here, the service felt hostile. 2 cups of filter coffee in a run-down hotel for 9.20 is crazy. I was happy to be back in the car, but what an unpleasant aftertaste from a waitress who also wanted a signature on the PIN receipt. Well, it's special that you can't trust such a debit card payment

We booked the four day package from August 18th, 2024 to August 21st, 2024. Arrival day and August 19th went relatively well. With half board there was a menu in the evening. We've eaten worse, but often better. The WiFi in our room rarely worked, if at all. You should think about a repeater. On August 20th We were repositioned in the dining room for breakfast, why? When I went to the breakfast buffet, I immediately had a dirty plate in my hand. The bare pieces of butter floated freely in the water, I rescued two and dried them. The breakfast buffet wasn't refilled either. The employees preferred to eat themselves first. Then a couple came into the dining room with a dog and his blankie. Unfortunately, we are not used to eating with animals. If I consider that my son, who is now an adult, had an allergy to animal hair, it would have been a success. Well, we ate quickly and left the stable. After we were back in the room with strength, the door was hooked at the top right, what a carpenter, we packed up after a quick vote. This day should be special for us because it is a day of honor. When paying, people naturally asked why we were leaving earlier. When I mentioned the animal thing, the dog lover and his wife were not happy. They were standing next to us. Of course, as usual from dog owners, a personal insult against me couldn't be missed. After about 15 minutes the waiter was there with the bill for our stay. We had booked an arrangement for €458. He wanted to charge us €507. We didn't expect that there would be no accommodation because of the early departure, or an apology because of the animal in the dining room. After we paid I asked for a receipt. We then taught the clerk what a receipt should look like, sadly. Little things like throwing ice cubes into the long drink with your bare finger are apparently also standard practice. All in all, the green fir in almond wood is not recommended. The boss of the whole thing was probably not there because, according to an employee, he was on a trip. It's a shame, a lot of money for such a short time. Three stars is overrated. Harz in the East, never again.I received an answer after over a week. If I complain at reception about the fact that there are dogs in the dining room and I support this with the words "Then I can go on holiday on the farm straight away" does that mean an insult to your employees? Ridiculous. If the dog owner stands next to me and says to me "They belong there too" that is an insult to me from other guests. If your employees can't provide receipts other than not knowing how to cook, is it an insult if we help them? Ridiculous. Not to mention their black fried schnitzels and the lumpy spaetzle that we were offered. When you describe, as in other answers, that your employees undergo training, I would like to point out that "language" is the most important means of training. I was an instructor myself (ADA). You can't run a house like that with their standard answers like "That's the only way we can get better" etc., which they've been using for YEARS. I hope for them that they can stay afloat for another two years.

Were there for one night for hiking. The food was very tasty, both in the afternoon and evening. The staff was also really very friendly. There's nothing wrong with that. The only thing that still needs improvement is the cleanliness of the rooms, lots of dust and dirty carpets. You could work on that. But we'd love to come back
