Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay at the Schlossvilla Dürenberg. We had fun at the Oktoberfest dinner, the tower room was huge and clean, the service was friendly.

The location is beautifully situated in the countryside and the house, the villa itself, is a very attractive building. The rooms were functional and clean. The entrance area has a large staircase and an atrium, which gives the impression that some higher personalities have come and gone here. There are enough parking spaces available.

We received a very friendly welcome, questions were answered, wishes were fulfilled. Very easy to reach and helpful on the phone in advance. I booked at very short notice and it was completely uncomplicated. Mr. Baier is obviously a passionate landlord and very child-friendly.The house is really cute with Art Nouveau details, a stately staircase in the foyer and an inviting terrace and garden. The room comfortable and well maintained. We had a delicious dinner from a small seasonal menu, the breakfast was good, filter coffee on the table, enough choice of sweet and savory for the rolls.Exploring the area and sitting in the garden with a coffee was expressly encouraged :) We felt comfortable and will be back.

Great hotel. We were welcomed by a very nice gentleman and felt well looked after. Breakfast in the small castle garden with a pond was very nice and invited you to stroll around the grounds with a coffee cup in your hand.

We celebrated our wedding in Schlossvilla Derenburg in November, everything was beautiful 🥰, the location and nature were beautiful, the reception... the food, dessert, cake... decorated rooms, pretty, we all made the bride and groom and guests feel comfortable, thank you !

We celebrated our wedding in June in the castle villa, actually a very nice location if the garden was cared for a little more. Not all of the rooms were perfect either.Agreements were not strictly adhered to, there was a daily routine with times, everything was discussed in advance. As an example, it was said that our guests should receive small appetizers while they waited for us, but the appetizers only came when we were there ourselves.A BBQ was planned for dinner, which started later than agreed, we had opened the buffet and no steak was ready yet. Very unfortunate. We would also have been happy to see signage for the salads and such so that people know what they are eating. We had people with us who had intolerances and allergies, which was communicated in advance, but unfortunately this was not taken into account when eating. The two ladies who served us were friendly but not organized, they were also sent home very early so we had to order all our drinks at the bar. Unfortunately, no one had this information and we found out about it in passing.I also find it very cheeky to offer breakfast for €15 and then only serve 2 types of sausage, 2 types of cheese and 2 types of bread rolls. When I asked about getting a small plate or something similar for trash, the answer was, "We could use our breakfast plates." Unfortunately, the nice lady who welcomed us at the first conversation is no longer there; she was one of the reasons why we chose the castle villa.I definitely can't recommend the castle villa the way it's going now.

We were able to celebrate a wedding as a guest in this great location.I don't even want to know what the bride and groom had to pay for this bad service, the terribly bad food, etc.I'm so sorry about that.Not only does the property need to be looked after, but the cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired.The food was bought ready-made, nothing was freshly prepared. Likewise the timing arrangements, which didn't fit at all.The highlight was breakfast the next morning.When I found a long hair from the owner in my food and pointed it out to him, there wasn't even an apology.But the breakfast was absolutely not worth €15 either.Terrible, just terrible.One can only hope that the bride and groom didn't notice that much.The most beautiful day of your life should definitely be more beautiful.

A beautiful little castle with wonderful property if you know how to use it.The rooms are functional but also comfortably furnished, just not clean. The same applies to the bathrooms.The foyer and the dining room and the adjoining hall are actually beautiful, if only the windows and floors were wiped and the cobwebs were removed from the high ceiling and decoration. It's also not a good thing if Christmas and Easter decorations are still lying around carelessly at the end of May.However, breakfast and dinner were a complete disaster.Three types of sausage and then divided, only one type of cheese spread, no muesli,...!This is NOT possible in any hotel!There was no menu, it was asparagus season!!!On the wedding day the food was a bit of a disaster, as I said, there was asparagus, hollandaise, schnitzel (delicious), zander (delicious), beef roulades (delicious), red cabbage (from a jar), potatoes (not fully cooked), rice and chicken curry (I think I). I would also like to mention that the asparagus was old, brown, mushy and inedible!I didn't try the starter soup or dessert.The meal cost €75 per person!!!Impossible!!!!The service also left a lot to be desired, which was not surprising, the service staff were young schoolgirls. Nobody could get tipsy!!!!Bottom line:The hotelier was completely overwhelmed with the wedding party, which is not surprising when you are a hotelier, chambermaid, waitress, gardener and another person all in one! The shot can only backfire!The reasons that gradually emerged were serious, but the hotelier should have opened his mouth beforehand, then something could have been saved.All you can say is, it can always get worse!!!!.

We were guests at a wedding with around 50 people on Saturday May 25th, 2024. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with the service and ambience. The actually beautiful castle garden hadn't been looked after for a long time, the terrace hadn't been swept, so it all seemed pretty careless. When the rude young service staff were sent off work, the level of service also fell. Orders were taken with grumbling and a petrified look.The castle villa offers a lot of potential, which unfortunately is not implemented. Too badWe can't say anything about the rooms as we didn't stay there.

Last weekend we celebrated our wedding with around 70 people.The castle villa is a very beautiful building that still has undiscovered potential! The garden and park are also fantastic (but could do with a bit of care).Everything was great at our first appointment. We booked the entire villa (including the room) so that our guests had the opportunity to spend the night there.However, the accessibility of the operator left something to be desired. Hard to reach by phone and some emails (from the guests) were not answered and although not all rooms were occupied, they said that there were no rooms left and so we had to go to another hotel.We arrived the day before the celebration and it was agreed in advance that we could decorate the tables at 4 p.m. (the hotel did not provide any decorations). Nothing was finished! No tablecloths, no chair covers. The operator said they would take care of it immediately. After 2 hours it still looked the same. We (the guests) pitched in and did everything (which isn't possible! That's why we celebrated in a hotel). There were always cobwebs in the rooms, which had been there for a while. The operator was simply overwhelmed.The food was very good. The service (5 waitresses) was very friendly and on point, but the operator hardly showed up. It took a little longer to add the warm portion (my family helped with some of it).Unfortunately the breakfast was far too little. About 15 people then spent the night in the hotel and it was very poor (no grain flakes/muesli, 3 types of sausage, 2 types of cheese, 2 types of frozen rolls, no bread, no vegetables, the milk was sour (which was then replaced upon request). Regional products were advertised (we didn't see anything). We paid around €17 per person for breakfast, which we don't think is justified.The prices are debatable. Of course the operators have to make money, but we think the current prices are a little too expensive/excessive.I don't want to badmouth the castle villa, but the organization, accessibility and cleanliness is catastrophic...The operator has so many ideas that he cannot implement.If it weren't for my family and friends, the celebration would have been a failure!!!

These are my personal impressions and experiences "not recommended"I have to be very surprised, a wedding party with around 80 people was requested, the buffet offer was discussed, the price was negotiated, agreed. Invitations written, nothing should stand in the way now... hahaha3 months later we no longer have to pay €50 per person but €75 per person/meal and instead of €25/person drinks flat rate for 3 hours, the drinks are now charged individually, example 2cl schnapps €3.90, beer €5.10 €etc.In addition, the spoken words are not implemented, the service from the operator is absolutely inferior, and the temporary ladies do a good job.The food itself was good. If you get something, you have to constantly ask if it can be refilled,The breakfast is an absolute joke for the price of €16, 2 types of baked rolls, 2 types of jam, the advertised sausage and cheese platters are rather poor, the fruit platters were great and the coffee milk was sour.The location was supposed to be decorated by the operator, but unfortunately the good ladies of the company had to get to work quickly. From hanging cobwebs to chair covers, setting and decorating the table, right through to putting away the Christmas and Easter decorations, everything was there.The photos that are stored here only correspond poorly to reality, windows are covered with colorful sheets, so it is always dark, there is hardly any lighting, dirty footbaths, the counter is full of junk, but the rooms are billed in advance at €140 per night.The accessibility of the executive floor is very poor, not just on the phone or by email, no, even on site you have to call loudly or even go into the kitchen to find someone, the temporary workers are not permanently in the house.The bottom line is that it is a shame that the potential of this building is being violently disregarded, service is extremely poor, prices are disproportionately expensive, if you can, give this building a wide berth as long as it is run under this operator.Greetings from the groom

It was a wedding with about 50 people.The reception was poor and cold.The rooms are OK but not top class either. The service isn't worth 2 stars. No one seems really motivated.The prices are way too high for what is on offer.The breakfast was a total joke for 16 euros. Not worth booking.
